So i wanted to ask all of u which video game music scores and themes u liked best.Then maybe i would listen to them and even try the game.I kind of like those themes which give u a nice epic feel with a bit of sadness.Some of my favourite themes are Crysis 3 NewYork Memories Silent Hill 2 (all of 'em) Most prefered:theme of laura Battlefield 3 (main theme) KillZone 3 (main menu theme) Wolfenstein The New Order :e3 trailer theme (in the background) + All along the Watch tower Assasins Creed Some non-ps3 games : C&C Generals American Battle Theme.....( dude , it blew me away.With all the rock blended with the epic-ness and desperation ) Deadlight (OST on the main menu screen) Please dont consider this a forum invasion.I just want some views and suggestions.BTW Crysis 3 theme is really good........u guys need to listen to it !!!!!!!
Classic jrpgs have my favorite music in video games. A lot of them have the "epic" orchesteral feel to them. WHen I'm working I will listen to them from playlists on youtube. Some of my favorites are "Top 50 world map themes" or "Top 100 ultimate rpg songs". Just search those if you want to hear a bunch from classic jrpgs. Also, I have been really into the Xenoblade Chronicles soundtrack... listening to it as I type this as a matter of fact :) My all time favorite soundtracks are Final Fantasy 7, Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy 6, and Xenoblade. Give 'em a listen if you get bored.

i like the morrowind soundtrack but i don't like it as a score for the game. they tried fitting too little music into too many situations so there ends up being the same theme playing when you're boldly setting out on a quest as when you're surrounded by ancient spirits in a crypt. plus the main theme is too easily identifiable for something that gets played ambiently.
it's weird because i like the music itself in morrowind more, but i think the use of music in a game like sound shapes is used so much better that it becomes better video game music. the player adds to the music as they collect pickups and the enemies/ obstacles move to the rhythm of the music so you know how to get by them. closure is another one where i really like how the music is used.
I am also listening to : SOLOMON's THEME BF3 THUNDER RUN BF3 SIEGE MW2 Chain of Command MW2 Coup de Grace : MW2 ( this music plays when sheperd betrays our protagonist and his partner "Ghost" and kills them. Made my eyes water.Plays at start of Wolverines mission )
I really enjoyed the music throughout Bioshock 2 it was a lot of violin and suited the mood so well.
Do you recall the beginning of Bioshock 2 where you in a submarine type of thing and being propelled to a building and those high notes, mmmm such suspense.
Lots of people here mentioned lots of good music and OST's. I'm amazed that no-one mentioned Assassin's Creed's OST's, they are one of the best out there. I also like Dark Souls' OST's and the OST's of a game called Knytt Underground, its OST's are also free on the PSN.
