If you read the links you will also find that some TVs game modes work better then others, which really just seems like common sense.

LMAO, I made one of the worst TV purchases? I'm literally laughing so hard right now, there's only 3-4 TV's better than the Kuro as of August 2013 (Panny ZT/VT60 and Samsung's PNF8000), enjoy your crappy Vizio or LG or whatever you have.

I'm sorry you don't trust gamers judgement, but I've found that gamers tend to be pretty picky. If you look at the last link you will find tests that shows game mode works, from a TV enthusiast.

I do agree that Pioneer does make some great products, but most people don't want to spend $2,500-$6,500 on a TV.

The Op is looking for a good affordable TV for his PS4, not some of the most expensive TVs you can buy. Do you have any suggestions on good TVs somewhere under the $500 range?

RCA is a brand of electronics that used to be a vary good brand, like 25+ years ago, I gave them a chance and I swear the picture deteriorated till the colors became extremly bland plus sometimes the remote could not turn the TV on or off.

When I'm at home I'll sadly be using my old 26-inch 720p Vizio from 2008.

When I'm at my GF's place with it (which won't be often) I'll get to use a 50-inch 1080p set.

On my cheap 32 insignia bestbuy tv. Probably wont get a bigger screen until I move to a bigger house.

It's hard to say at this point. I don't plan on getting a PS4 any time soon, but I currently game on that Playstatioin 3D moniter. If I don't upgrade when I end up getting a PS4, I'll be gaming on that still.
