I see nobody playing DMC4 in my buddy list.. so i'm wondering, do i hv a "rare" buddy list, or this game sucked badly?? personally, i think it's a 9.0 game. I love it!! milan22
It seems like the only people disappointed in the game are the people that are new to the series. I guess that is because the fans of the series really hyped it up. I for one find that this game is great sure the ending could have been better but hey I still loved it and look forward to see what Capcom has in store for us in the future...
DMC5 is going to be great and I already have my theories of what the twist will be.
I love it. no dissapointment at all except the fact that capom waisted time porting it on the 360, so they could have added more but its fine as it is.Karaam
Actually, that's not the reason. They had 2 serperate teams handling both versions. It would've turned out the same way if it would've been an exclusive PS3 title.

Its a good game, but 3 and one are better, I could list all the things that I don't like about the game but I won't, I just beat the game today, overall I came away thinkings its a good game overall, but with far too many problems with it to put it up there with the "God of War's and Ninja Gaidens" of the world.

Ye.. DMC2 was the best because of the non-stop action and less cutscenes, but gamespot really has kicked the game off thier windows! it deserved 8.7 or 8.5 overall.Ye.. Wow, somone that actually thinks that :|. I have still to play 4 yet, but I thought 3 was the best out of the original PS2 games. I played DMC1 after I had played 3 and the difference in gameplay was pretty jarring. It was still a great game, I just didn't get into it as easily as I did DMC3. Considering DMC4 seems to mix the best elements of 1 and 3, I will probably enjoy it (the less said about DMC2 the better, though Capcom seems to have disowned that game from both a gameplay and story standpoint).

I really liked this game and the reason why you probably don't see anyone on it no more is because they probably already beat it. I beat mines last wednesday (The day after I got it). On my buddy list people are still playing to try to beat devil hunter, so I guess it depends on the people you have. Maybe some of the people on your list don't have the game.

So far I'm really enjoying it. I'm at Mission 10 after about four days of play and it's great.
It's a fantastic game.
I like it but I DMC1 is still my favorite one, the story was great but left you at the end wondering who is Nero, I guess DMC5 might give us that answer.

I'm on the same mission and feel the same exact way. No dissapointment here. DMC4 is way too cool. I'm really glad I got a copy. I know I'm gonna have lots of fun replayin' this game over and over again.
Another thing: I haven't played the previous three DMC games and I'm playing DMC4 on Devil Hunter. The experience thus far has been nothing less than satisfying. Long live Devil May Cry!!!

Sorry, but DMC1 & 3 sit side by side at the top. Taking a lot of the enemies from the 1st game and toning them down for button mashers in the 4th is pretty sorry. Look what they did to the frost enemies: in 1 they were sensitive to ifrit attacks, while resilient to alastor attacks. Now in 4, you can kick the hell outta them with just about anything quite easily. There's no strategy anymore to fighting them. Strategy in general just seems to take on less signifigance than in 1 and 3.
And where's the versatility in the bosses like it was in DMC3? I realize that DMC1 followed the formula of boss rematches, but I don't find the boss fights in 4 to be nearly as enjoyable as 1's. I dread seeing them over and over in #4, they're boring (esp that frozen toad and flaming minotaur).
Then there's the difficulty, or lack thereof (unless playing on a higher unlockable setting) that makes DMC4 more casual than hardcore. That's a bad thing imo. Couple that with a not so interesting story, and only slight gameplay advancements to DMC3, you've got yourself a 8.0 game imo.

You should've played DMC1 first. Then you'd have appreciated it more. 3 radically expanded the combat engine of the series to make up for the sour taste that 2 left in people's mouths. Is was up to 3 to get the series back on top, so Capcom really went all out on the 3rd game.

ah ok. so its the script writer's fault and and the director. It seems like the only people disappointed in the game are the people that are new to the series. Right on the money dude! I am playing the hell out of it right now.

They'll probably sell more Xbox 360 copies than PS3 so why is it a waste of time making it for 360? The 360 version isn't a port either.
I love DMC4. I haven't played it much recently because I've been putting any spare time into beating Halo 3 on Legendary.
