OK i have a god of war red psp with the latest firmware (4.05)

i went on infrastructure mode scanned and it found my router no problem, with 100% connection signal. i have a wpa(tkip) connection. I entered the password which i know works because we have one PC and two laptops connected fine with that password. i went on easy and i entered all the info correctly. However when i enter it and test connection it gives me an error that reads "a connection error has occurred. A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the security sttings for the network and try again."

i am using a Airplus xtreme G wireless router (D-link) and am using norton protection for virus, firewall etc. (and yes i have the wlan switch turned on)

now plz if anyone has any idea why i can't connect plz write somthing. This is really F***king annoying. I have read many forums and none have helped fox my problem. I dont know why this is happening because like i said the 2 laptops and pc's connect fine.

Does your router supports wireless-b?

I own the same GOW PSP and the box shows it's a wireless-b and not wireless-g.

It's because wireless-N supports both wireless-g and wireless-b but wireless-g alone doesn't support wireless-b.

If your router can only support wireless-g band, your PSP will not work.

You need at least a router that supports wireless b/g or wireless N.

It sucks that Sony chose to use wireless-b protocol when the market standard is atleast wireless-g.

Check the manual or the description on the router itself. What's your router model no.?

OK don't bother, there's two kinds of router that's named Airplus Xtreme G and Dlink claimed that both supports b/g.

I carefully read your first post again and looks like the problem is that when you try to actually connect (not detect) to your wireless, the signal is not available anymore. An interference could be a suspect here like, wireless telephone (both uses 2.4GHz spectrum) or operating microwave oven.

Just try to connect again and again and make sure all information is entered correctly. This problem happens to my PSP occasionally.

its simple...all u need to do is log in to your router and make sure that u have B band enabled cause thats the only way you're gonna get it to connect unless u go thru your ps3 like i do sometimes...i have a linksys router and its set for mixed meaning b and g devices can access at anytime.....once u change those settings u will be set up and ready to go...if u don't know what to do just have one of your friends do it for u or u may have to call the geek squad hell..just some advice
