PixelJunk Monsters!

Hey, I recently downloaded Pixlejunk Monsters, thinking it would just be some mind numbing little game, to discover that behind the cutesy visuals and uplifting music it's one hell of a strategy game.

Was just wondering if anyone had any basic strategies they wanted to share, as I'm struggling a little on the harder stages!

p.s is encore worth getting?

I have Encore and it's frustratingly great. Good levels but roughly 2x as difficult as the first island.

Put a few arrow towers right at the start of when the smaller monsters come out on each side of them. Be sure to upgrade them to. And use lots of cannon towers in choke points (narrow areas).
