My 3rd PS3

I'm about to receive a new PS3 40GB, cuz my other two 60GB PS3's stopped reading the games and movies (i don't know the cause of this, i keep them well ventilated) anyways, i have a question, is someone here happy with the 40GB, how long do you have it? (cuz my other 2 didn't last 3 mounts lol)

Well, i've had my ps3 since Christmas. So a couple months now. So far, i've had no problems, been working great for me! Im very happy with it. Unless you dont have a ps2 and you really want to play ps2 games, the 40 gb doesnt allow BC with ps2 games. But, if you have a ps2 to play, or if you dont care about BC, then your golden!SRC_319

PS3s have about a 1-2% failure rate, so I guess you must really be unlucky. :|

I have a 60 gig that hasen't been shut down for months and just about everyday it is used to play some kinf of game (although I don't take the disc out until I want to change the disc out with another disc). jimm895

Malfunctions happen man .. it's a machine. They don't all work the same ..

40 gig is good,and your the first person ive heard of that has had a broken ps3.HoodCheese

i have had my ps3 for 3 years now and nothing has happend to me. have u tried modding it or somthing?

I use my launch 60GB all the time and rarely shut it off and have had no problems.RoyTheViking

Well, i guess i have 2 find my own answers for this problem, thanks for those who understand me and believed me...this topic was not meant 2 start a war...sorry if i hurt someones feelings._ChIcKeN_

I am truely sorry that your having the problems your having and I hope that you find a ansewer to your problem. I have mine standing vertical because it tends to allow more heat to escape from the drive area much easier. You may want to try this the next time around and I just leave my disc in the drive when it's not in use until I want to swap the disc for another one. I know this may not be a fix all ansewer but maybe you could try some of these pointers. I thought I would share what I have been doing for a long time with no problems.

And again best of luck getting this problem resolved.

You have to be doing somthing wrong with your PS3 to have broke 2 in a row.

Do you wash your hands after eating before touching your system? Somthing can get on a cd then get stuck inside the machine.

Do you travel alot? The more you move around your system the greater the chance you can damage somthing.

Plugged into a Surge Protector? Consoles are getting more like PC's everyday and Lighting and PC's Don't mix.

It's actually 3%, but still, that's just really unlucky.
