HI, Very close to buying a Vita, especially after trialling one in Game! However, I am trying to work out the best sized memory card for my needs. I would only use the memory card for game demos and music (no more than 100 songs). How much memory would game demos (on average) need? Not sure if I need an 8GB or 16GB one.

You should be fine with an 8GB. That will hold quite a few demos and songs.

I'm having the same problem. I may get a PSVita but trying to decide which memory card I should get is difficult. In my case if I get a PSVita I want to have the space needed for Vita safe files, apps and some PSP games.

If you only need room for ~100 songs + some demos, 8gb is fine.

8GB-16GB My 4GB is already filled with Demos, I Suggest a 16 only if there are some game demos like Wipeout you dont plan to buy but find them really fun and want to keep it.

Thanks to everyone who has replied - much appreciated! I think an 8GB will be sufficient.

my 8GB card is half full with wipeout, 3 psp games and 36 music tracks.very disapointed with how little they hold.this is definately where Sony are making ALL of there money, i bet they produce the cards for £5 and sell them for 6 times mark-up.they need a telling off.

I've said it all along the memory is my only big issue with the vita. The 3ds will soon allow big downloads and I can get 32gb sd for about 35bucks

Given I can balance the 16GB of my iPhone between my assortment of apps, a hearty music mix and still have space to play with... I would personally say 16GB works potentially well for the Vita.

But even a really big iOS game is only about 1gb. Where most vita games now are 2 and Uncharted is like 4 isn't it? When I paid .99 to 6 bucks on iOS I dont expect a full retail game for 40-30 bucks on Vita they gotta add the extra content.

Even a 4gb should get you by. I have 258 songs for a 1gb. Uncharted demo is 334mb while unit 13 is 845mb so they very.

16 GB sounds like a good amount. I am getting a 16 GB memory card. I plan to put about 1,000 songs on it. Then I want to put some PSP games on it. Lastly I will use it for apps, add ons and games that are not sold for retail. For instance I would download a game like Escape Planor Plants vs. Zombies. I will not download retail games because their is no reason to waste the space whenever you can just buy a hard copy. 16 GB is the best by far.
