Apparently the site that reported that they will be free has been contacted by Sony and the maps will not be free. There is still not word on how much they will cost
Well this sucks, although I will still gladly pay for them

This is there first DLC...Not surprised at all. It's not like Guerilla is different from any other developer when it comes to making money off of DLC.

At least it isn't on the disc. They're making money off DLC, not hiding game components and ripping off the player.

I get new content for the game and they make profit, it is a win-win situation
yea i knew it was too good to be true...well i wouldnt think this pack will be over 15 so thats cool...remember you gotta pay for quality..
next map pack i wouldnt mind seein more maps and more classes and badges..and maybe a few more weapons IMO

I don't think they'll charge for new weapons. This should be a regular update if it happened. It will be really an unbalanced game if you had more weapons than people who haven't bought the DLC.[QUOTE="parvie"][QUOTE="samuraiguns"] Exactly. They're no different from other developers. it better not be more than 5 dollars..I have no interest in multiplayer so I don't particuarly care how much it is because I won't be getting it.

Well it still could be free.....These maps both look like amazing fun, the train part was one of my favorite levels, and now that you have to jump trains and can get killed by the environment, it will add some more to the gameplay. I'll gladly pay, hopefully it will only be $4.99, at most $7.99.

Not sure why thought it was free. Every news story I've seen has said it will be for pay, but the price hasn't been released yet.
duhhhh of course they weren't gonna be free. The real question is... will they be $9.99. I don't think it's worth that.

YES BUT they dont sell psn cards here and i dont have a credit card!!!!!! Its extremely irritating knowing you really cant purchase these Download Contents. In cod4 and 5 i couldnt buy the map pack, i just got killzone 2 sunday, NOW in less than a month, i wont have the ' latest; no more, because i wont have the new maps. Not sure who to be mad at, The developers or the stores for not importing the psn cards here. lame....
In a sense, I'm forced to give up online gaming. No one wants to have an outdated software.
In call of duty 5, i have to exit the lobby when the next map will be one i have to pay for..
Do any of you know how a business runs? Seriously, or are all of you really not that smart?
So for two months GG has been PAYING their employees to work on these new maps, and you know they pay them well. Plus paying for their equipment, hydro ect. That's what is called an Expense, they have to make sure their revenue is higher than their expense. It's pretty simple guys ..
Nothing is free anymore, get used to it. I think most of you are oblivious to the fact that everything costs something ..

got to disagree with you there , not on the ripping people off by unlocking dlc but that killzone2 not doing that in a way. its two maps which are in the singleplayer its nothing new other then they tweaked it a bit for multiplayer. thats fine but you shouldn't charge for stuff you already built there no justification for it. i felt the same way about the newsroom map in cod4 but that was in a pack with some other new maps. recycling good as long as you dont charge people for it.[QUOTE="Scianix-Black"][QUOTE="parvie"]clarkportmanken

With these at least they tweak em enough to not look the same.
Times like this I am glad my main gaming system is the PC. Free DLC FTW. It amazes me just how many shrug paying for DLC off like it is no big deal. I like the PS3, but I won't be buying DLC unless it is the type of stuff that would also cost me on the PC like full games, expansions packs, ect..

yup i agree that why i thought the cod4 maps were a rip off to and these look pretty similar to the campaign with the exception of the ship that keeps flying between the two trains on the train map. alls the contents the same there not building anything new i don't see why they feel justified in charging for stuff. burnout paradise gave new stuff out for free stuff that actually added to the game midnight club added a whole new section for free to the game. While it would of course be great if the DLC was free, it is no skin off my back if they want to charge us. I have the utmost confidence in GG that they will put together some quality additions for us.
I mean damn I spend 5-10 dollars a day on lunch. I figure I can afford some DLC that might cost 5.99$ or something
Lets just say that Call Of Duty WAW is basically the industry standard and sets the price point. COD developers charge $9.99 for 4 maps. So for Killzone, the developers might be pushing it if they want $9.99 for only 2 maps. ihacker
Yet the thought process and graphics alone on one of Killzones maps would eat CODs maps up ..
