Hey I need to know how to internally clean my 60GB PS3. Yes I know about the fan test but that's only for the 40GB and I don't want to break the warranty seal just to clean off the motherboard and all hat other stuff. im scared to put compressed air into it because will it damage the chips or the laser? Help..!

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that one of those DVD player cleaning discs would suffice.

I don't like cats. Turned a reasonable thread into a stupid one. I read it all the way to the end just to see if anyone had anything good to say. No... more cats. Vaccuums... A high powered vaccuum should be good out the rear fans. Still also if you got a 60GB you may very well be past the 1yr warranty so JUST TAKE IT APART ALREADY! I know you know you want to know what is inside that thing.

A can of canned air and a good vacuum cleaner will do the trick. Use the vacuum cleaner first to get as much as possible then use the air to get the dust deep inside the system moving and then use the vacuum again, just keep repeating this until as much dust as possible is removed.

Do people really not read owner's manuals when they purchase an expensive machine? It clearly states in the manual to clean the vents using a low-powered vaccum. Seriously, owner's manuals are great crapper reading.

Stupid answer. Very harmful. Some people/children may actually think this is truthful and thus ruin their machine. You need to think before you post.
