My PC monitor is a normal CRT, not an LCD type.  Its has a normal CRT plug.  I was at Wal Mart and saw a HDMI to DVI cord, but the DVI end was wrong, it was a male end and I would need a female end (I would have to plug the little adaptor thing that came with my video card into the end of the cord and then plug my CRT into that)

Anyway, is there a better way to do this?  What would I need and where can I find it?

HDMI to DVI won't work unless your monitor is HDCP compliant.  HDCP is a new security standard for digital connections (HDMI, DVI) and without it on a monitor, you won't get a picture with the PS3.   Your only option then would be to get a component to VGA transcoder.  They run anywhere from $60-$100 and don't really work too well on 4:3 aspect CRT's.  Your best bet would be to get a new HDCP enabled  LCD monitor.  They can be found for $200-$250 for a 19".

I got this CRT back in 2003, so its quiet old.  Pretty sure it does not meet the reqs, but I will check.
