I don't know what size your looking at buy if your going to upgrade like that, you may as well make it big like above 40 inches. I have a 19" LCD with component in my room, and a 60" 1080p in the living room that I play with HDMI.
I'm planning on getting another TV and it's going to be a big one, 1080p. I wouldn't upgrade to better resolution with a small TV
It will look better, but it just depends on personal preferance. I know people that cant see a difference between 720p and 1080p. I personally can but you just have to look at some TVs and figure it out for yourself.
