After living in cave for 4 years, I finally own a PS4. It's no pro, but it's pretty big deal for me since I only had 360 and handhelds for last 4 years.

So I have so far

  • Assassin's Creed Unity
  • Assassin't Creed Syndicate
  • inFamous Second Son
  • Shadow of Mordor

And thinking of getting/will get later for sure

  • MGS V
  • GTA V
  • inFamous First Light
  • Gravity Rush Remastered
  • Gravity Rush 2
  • The Last Guardian
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • The Last of Us
  • Tomb Raider DE
  • Arkham Knight
  • The Witcher 3
  • A Warriors game that I can find cheap
  • Som JRPGs you may never hear about

Things I don't like

  • FPS - I don't mind TPS, but I can never get comfortable with FPS on console.
  • 3D platformer
  • Horror
  • Games that require DLC. I currently reide overseas, while my PSN account is North American. This means that if I get a game here (Asia), then I cannot buy that game's DLC because the Asian copy is not compatible with North American PSN account. So if I get a "GOTY edition" of sort, and the DLCs are not on-disc and instead have to be downloaded separately, I cannot get those contents because or this reason.

I'm thinking of Souls games, but I have a bit of trauma with Demon's Souls, and I haven't touched the genre since.

You seem to have all of your bases covered as far as the list of games you have and are thinking about getting, but I would suggest Nioh!Even though it's a Souls-like game, it's not as frustrating to play.

If you havent touched the Souls games since Demon Souls, then id actually strongly suggest Bloodborne. I, like you, had a troubled time with Demons Souls, but I picked up Bloodborne with a "ooooh what the hell" kinda attitude and i have to say its one of the best games i have ever played, and it doesnt quite fall in to the Horror Genre for me, yeah i admit it can have an unsettling tone to it sometimes.

The Uncharted Games are solid choices if youre looking for something short but sweet.... especially if you have TLoU and Tomb Raider already on your wishlist.

I havent played it yet, but im really hoping to get Nioh, and that certainly looks like it fits in to the Warrior games that youre looking for.

shame you don't like 3d platformers or horror as that eliminates ratchet and crank and until dawn which are two great exclusives.

i'd say mgsv and dishonored 2 are well worth it if you like stealth games

Should be getting the valkyria chronicles remastered for your jrpg fix if you didnt play it yet on ps3. That game such a great gem.

- Yakuza 0 (brawler, open world)

- Valkyrie Chrinicles (strategy jpg)

- Dishonored 1, 2 (it plays in first person perspective and there's a pistol but it's more of a first person action/ stealth game than an FPS)

- Mad Max. Has a fighting system similar to Batman AK.

Honestly, I have better things to look through all the games to find out which games are compatible as far as dlc and all that, that's your job, I'll give you a list of good games though. Leaving out games you mentioned as well.

The Evil Within (it's horror yes, but it's more gameplay with cool horror themed aesthetic really, the gameplay is core here with stealth and gunplay and crafting and item management)

Yakuza 0

Disgaea 5

Dead Nation Apocolypse Edition (if you have two controllers and a friend, or a friend with a controller to bring over)

Alienation (same as dead nation)

World of Final Fantasy

The King of Fighters XIV

Let It Die (it's free)

Dragon Quest Builders

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth

Ronin

Transistor

Apotheon

TowerFall: Ascension

Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Stick It to The Man

Thumper

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments and The Devil's Daughter

Mordheim: City of the Damned

Aragami

Jotun

Resi 4-6 (they are more gameplay over horror)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (if you've played human revolution, get this on discount though, it's certainly not worth 60)

Inside

Bound

Grow Home and Grow Up

One Piece: Burning Blood

Invisible Inc.

Hyper Light Drifter

I Am Setsuna

Hotline Miami 1 and 2

The Banner Saga 1 and 2

Furi

Hawken

Dark Souls 2 and 3

Kings Quest

Rocket League

Skulls of the Shogun

Magicka 1 and 2 (they have dlc but honestly it's good enough without)

Project Cars

Driveclub

Broken Age

God Eater 1 and 2

Toukiden 1 and 2

Assassins Creed 2d games (there are a few and they are named after countries)

Shovel Knight

Titan Souls

Aaru's Awakening

Bastion

Axiom Verge

OlliOlli and OlliOlli2

Citizens of Earth

Zombie Army Trilogy

Limbo

Gran Fandango Remastered

Saints Row Gat out of hell and re-elected

The Order 1886 (pretty but not the best game, cheap though by now)

Lara Croft and and Temple of Osiris

Secret Ponchos (online)

The Crew

Little Big Planet 3 (since you haven't played one before)

Far Cry 4

Never Alone

The Binding of Issac: Rebirth

Costume Quest 2

@putaspongeon: I own quite a few of them on other systems, especially most of the indie titles. Though I'm interested in how bad The Order actually is.

@Zensword: I heard about Mad Max, and I thought it was one of the lesser open world titles on PS4?

@sakaixx: I certainly did thought of getting that, but that would make it the third time I'm getting it. I bought PS3 for VC back when nobody cared about this game lawl.

@Macutchi: I heard Ratchet was good, but i never was impressed by the series since PS2 era. Though a lot of people say this is the best one, so I'm not sure. As for Dishonored 2, I'll just wait until I get that elusive PC rig I've been thinking of getting for years. I already own Dishonored on Steam anyway....

@Khazrak134: I'm almost sold on Bloodborne except I live in Asia so I'm not sure getting GOTY edition here will have all the DLCs on-disc and no separate download from PS Store is required. And thing about Uncharted is.... I own all three on PS3, and I was not particularly impressed by first and third one, while I thought second one had good level design but overall very overrated. I heard a lot of people who were like me liked UC4, so I'm gonna give it a go, but I usually don't like games that are cutscene-heavy. Also Nioh is far from a Warriors game I'm looking for. I was thinking more of SW4-2, but I think I'm gonna hold off on my Musou feel with Berserk or Musou Stars...

@MarcRecon: I wouldn't mind Nioh, once the price dips a bit. I'm a Koei fan anyway, so I was gonna get it regardless.

@funsohng: glad you supported the game. Loved it on ps3 I bought it again years later on on pc and then again on ps4 due to trophy support. Hopefully the latest spin off doesnt suck as people been saying it is.

Try out disgaea 5 and odin sphere leifthrasir then, especially the latter if you never played the original on ps2.

I never got into Disgaea series for some reason. 5 may change my mind but I don't know.

As for Odin Sphere, I have the original AND Vita version =P

It's not as popular as other open world games like AC or Batman but still a solid game.

@killered3: Not into Neptunia series, Re;birth 1 was one of the few games I ever sold back. I'm getting both RotTR and UC4 sooner or later.

@Zensword: I'll keep an eye on it for a price drop then.

@sakaixx:I'm actually playing Sophie right at this moment on Vita. Should get Firis as soon as they patch the Korean version.

You could always invest in old systems and really play "old games" like I do. The nostalgia is there and still so much fun...and also extremely frustrating at times but still worth it. But if you will play older PS4 games then Shadows of Mordor was good. Good balance. Gets repetitive though
