HOME Release date 31.10.08

Apologises if this has been posted before or elsewhere. Was at a function today by invite and there was a SCEE representive at the function who informed me, when I asked, that HOME will be released in Europe on the 31st of October. He wouldn't confirm whether or not it would come in the 2.5 update or as a software update with LBP. He intermated to me that the most likely platform will be as an install with LBP to save server overload? Sorry I don't have a link merely passing on what I heard. Asked for a beta key for LBP, KZ2 and SOCOM without success. Don't do **** posts so believe this if you will. I do.

Seeing how it is a free service, I can pretty much guarantee it won't be offered *only* on the LBP disc. It will be downloadable as well.

The beta is available in the U.S. (not to everyone), but the final version has yet to be released. You may be thinking of Life with Playstation??

It's a closed beta, not everybody got in.

Where did he say you need LBP to get Home?

Sorry was at work at the time of the post. Few more details. One of the reasons for the hold up on the release was apparently due to 'Licenses' with regards to downloaded movie content & movies streamed across to your HHD and played on the HOME cinema. It has something to do with people being able to view transfered movie data and copyrights. This again apparently is to try and limit the use of Porn in HOME. HOME will also be monitored to prevent the problems 2nd life had. Whatever that meant.

In case of any confusion I was told that HOME would either be available as DLC from PSN or as a software update included in LBP. Sony have used this method on the PSP I was told?? I was also told that the 2.5 update might also included in either SOCOM or Resistance 2 releases.

Obviously I have no evidence but not into posting rubbish got better things to.

im sad to say i cant believe this. history tends to repeat itself, and in home's case, threepeat itself.

It's a little hard for me to believe, but great news if this is true.

Not really. Home coming with Little Big Planet on the disk is actually good to reduce traffic on the PSN store.

Then again, I don't believe this anyways. It's as creditable as someone saying Halo is coming to PS3. I could type "I talked to a Sony rep too" and say Home's coming out Nov. 14th. I only trust an official announcement.

Don't believe you at all. I'm a home beta tester. Didn't see anything on the private forums about it. No news in HOME. So I don't believe you. I can't say much but what I can is that in october the 2.5 update is going to do 1 of 3 things. 1. Fix the bugs in HOME. 2. Do a public beta. Kinda like whats happing with LittleBigPlanet. So that means everyone won't get in. or 3. 1 and 2 together with the Update of HOME 1.00.
