I have never had too much of a problem with the PS analog stick layout, until I played xbox with my friends and bought a 360 controller for my PC to play a few games. After using it, I realized how awkward the sticks on the PS controllers are. I checked around, andI found the PS3 shadow controller. I bought one and it's awesome. The controller is more compact, but it's not too small. It just has a much better feel. The only downside is that you have to plug the usb adapter into your PS3 for it to work instead of using Bluetooth. I have included a pic below. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't like the analog stick layout of thePS controller. Also, I got mine at Best Buy, but you can find them on Amazon and many other places.

Sixxais? I'm not sure, don't really have any games that use it. Didn't read the instructions either. I will check after I get home today. It does have the rumble feature.

There's nothing really WRONG with it. It's all a matter of preference, IMO the directional pad and L analog should be reversed, as they are with this controller.

hello, I have both the ps3 and x360. and I have to say I like the ps3 controller layout a little better, I dont mind the x360 one, its still good.

I like this off brand controller your showing us. its nice. I want to ask something is there one of these controllers the other way around, what I mean is a Playstation Shaped x360 controller, with the stick lay out like the ps3 and able to plug it in the x360. I know about the max shooter, I got one, its ok, just dont feel right. if any one can help that would be nice. thanks

The placement doesn't really bother me as I can pretty much acclimate to any controller fairly well.

Because some great games use the motion at spots in the game. I've found that there's no controller besides Sony's that has all the functions which makes all of them no good to me.

I prefer the layout of the PS3 controller, 3 generations with the same controller can't be ignored, this layout its to familiar for my.

Sweet man. Will definitely try this one out. Always hated playing FPS on my PS consoles because of the left analog/ digital placement, especially after playing them on the original Xbox's smaller, revised controller. I'm curious though as to how responsive you find the digital pad? Smooth as an authentic PS controller or jerky and semi-unplayable like the 360's?

that would be one more complaint (besides usb adapter instead of bluetooth) with it. the d pad is not that great, but it is not that critical in most games, so no big deal. I've had this since the launch week (maybe a month ago or less) and I really like it. I will never buy another Dual shock if this stays on market. This is still just my opinion. I can still use the PS brand controllers, I just prefer this one.

I saw a mod on youtube of someone who put the guts of a six axis into a 360 controller. I'd love to do that.

The current controller is uncomfortable to use. Not so much, but enough to complain about it.

Would I love to see it changed Yes
Am I going to abandon PS3 and boycott Sony for it Absolutely Not.

Agreed. I almost wish Sony would release an upgraded Dualshock with the directional pad and left analog stick switched and change the L2 and R2 buttons to feel more like triggers.

That's something else they did with this one. the triggers curve out instead of in. Also, I forgot to say that the entire controller (except the buttons) has a rubber coating on it to make it easier to hold onto when hands get a little sweaty

After playing my 360 for years, I just got a ps3 , and yes i never realized how awkward the PS3 controller is. It is too small, and the analog placement is just awkward. I definetly prefer the 360 layout. I like this controller, but the no wirless and lack of motion control would be a turnoff for me. If only i could hook my 360 controller to the PS3...

Sorry if I confused you, it DOES have wireless, it is just not bluetooth wireless. It comes with a small usb adapter to plug into the PS3 that looks like a wireless mouse usb adapter. I don't know if it has the motion or not. I provided a pic below of the adapter.

Thank u for sharing TC, i was hopin to hear if it was good or not. i was thinkin bout gettin one b/c the PS Controller is awkward. I never really noticed also until i played on a 360 and i was playin an FPS so much better on it. I dont hate the PS Controller set up, i just prefer the *other system's* set up. I will hav to check at best buy soon.

wow ill check into that controler TC. thx for posting. for me its not the layout of the sony pads its the shape. they are just not very comfy for me. the best feeling controler IMHO was the gamecube controler. it just fit my hands perfect. i didnt like the yellow stick all that much but the actual shape of the controler was just perfect. plus i have yet to see a controler built tougher or more solid than a ninty controler. Sorry if this sounds like system wars stuff. just discussing ;)

It's funny how people have different preferances, I personally love the PS3 controller and think the 360 controller feels weird. I find that my thumb slips off the 360 stick a lot. I think I will stick with the Dualshock 3 or Sixaxis for now.

Uhg. The Dualshock controller is one of the main reasons I can't stand playing my PS3. It's just too akward and tiny for me. If this controller turns out to be decent i'll have to pick one up. Bummer about no sixaxis though.

The thing that the change of placement does is add ergonomics to the controller which it lacks, but I'm just used to the dualshock layout. I find using R1 for shooters much better and the placement of the sticks allows me to control the aiming and make small tweaks more so then on the 360. When I play COD on the 360 at my friend's shooting is much harder with certain guns, and I can't aim as well as on the PS3.

Yo good lookin out, I have had every game system and once Microsoft released their console, I have always prefered their controller but once they came out with the 360 controller it changed my gaming life. I like to play my PS3 but the controller is too small and the analog sticks are too close together my thumbs touch when playing FPS games its just awkward, but I was dealing with it and was hoping for something like this.

This controller will have me playing my PS3 more now thank you

I'm fine with the layout. What I don't care for is the overall shape. The mid-nineties ergonomics are lacking IMO. I'm wondering how this one will feel in my hands.
