i finally played it last week after all the hype id heard, and wow i was disappointed.
If youre into RPG's, then yeah youll probably like it. Otherwise, its boring as hell. HUGE map (but everything basically looks the same). Its got quantity, but short on quality. Im no RPG fanatic, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Get GTA4 (if you dont have it), if youre lookin for a long game
So I have the whole summer off until my college starts again. I've been basically practicing my guitar and playng games. I'm looking for a long game, like Oblivion. Is it really that good? as everyone says, thanks!SiKh22yes Oblivion is a GREAT game. it has its flaws just like any other game but its Well worth adding to your collection.
Maybe if you buy it, they'll have enough money to afford more than 2 voice actors!Andrew_Xavier
Lol I thought they were like 5

That many? Maybe, they do change voices mis-speech a lot, so, it could be 5, which is okay, except, it's for over 100 people :P
is the game bad? Andrew in your point of view. I dont want to waste money, cause I'm saving up for my next semester of college. thanks!SiKh22
It's shallow, I wouldn't say bad, the voice acting is brutal in it, literally, people change voices in mid-go, homeless woman sound like royalty if you ask the right question, the combat is not good, the main quest is as generic as it comes, the rpg aspects are light, etc, there are major problems with it.

Unless you have an addictive personality, then no.
well can you guys recommend me a game then thas long and fun, 60 dollars is fine, i was keeping my budget at 30. SiKh22Long & fun.. hmm. on the PS3, or consoles, that is, there is not much to choose from. well, for me anyway. i spend the most time with WRPG's & there aren't many on consoles right now. but you could always try The Orange Box. there's A LOT of content in there.
Oblivion is great but it has a long learning curve, i dont mean to say it's hard but it takes a while to learn how everythign works and how to best make a character, so it's a bit of trail and error but it's addicting once you get into it.
There are some bugs and some things that can be a bit annoying but the huge varied world and quest makes up for it and it is a beautiful game.
So saying all that, it actually takes a while to enjoy but once you do, you'll get so many hours from it. easily the longest game i've put hours into on a console.
Oh and if you are a person who can easily rp yourself into the game, it gets alot more interesting, otherwise it might just end being an general hack and slash experience.
I'd say yes. You'll get your money's worth and then some. I just realized on the character I tend to play most, I had 100 hours by the time I finished the storyline of Shivering Isles as well as the main storyline for the original game. There's still lots to do and explore besides that.
