FirmWare Update 1.90 details(custom BG confirmed!)

The 1.90 Firmware update just hit Japanese PS3s. Let's dive in and see what the update entails:
Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
Option menu now includes "eject disk"
Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
XMB backgrounds
Change the folder ****fication
Emoticons
Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
Change PS3 video settings in-game
"Bit Mapping" in the "Music Setting"
Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
Add bookmarks
Web browser security function in the browser's tool section
Avatar moves during audio visual chat

Custom soundtracks is the ability to play music that has been downloaded to your ps3's hard drive while in the middle of a game. So, for example, i could be playing rainbow six vegas while listening to metallica all at the same time on the PS3. It is a very nice feature.

July 24th update execution

Corporation SONY [konpiyutaentateinmento] (SCEJ), update to of system software version 1.90 of play station 3, is executed on July 24th. In addition, also the system software version 3.52 of PSP is released in the same day.

The update is tomorrow and Im saying that. You dont have to trust me.

ohhh, that'd be tight :), but I think in-game xmb/music is up to the developers of the game, not the firmware developers.

Well i told you guys about 2 weeks ago its updated Tthis tuesday ,my contact is one of the 7 guys who decide what and when,dont bother flaming just check my post history,n track me for futer posts if you wish. I can tell yo 1.90 will jump to 2.0 within 3-4 weeks along with Home PB and will be just over 500mbs for home,they are unsure about anything else major at this time as 1.90 is basically huge anyway,so only expect Home next month. Its going in with the 2.0 and not as a DL from PSN becaus of certain issues could not work from the PSN and has to now be integrated into the Firmware.unimpendium115

Sony will not deliver? THIS FUNCTIONALITY IS ALREADY AVAILABLE TO DEVELOPERS. Blame the developers for not having it.

and give Sony some time. once they release the FW update that allows XMB access during games, then you can have your custom soundtracks. Sony has already stated that they are working on it.

It's not a necessity that's why. This is such a minor detail and will not increase/decrease the PS3's dish outs. Realisticly that is.

It means your darkness demo wont always be at the top of your games list, just because its what you downloaded last.

So you can move it and slap SSHD at the top, if its a game you play more. Just for conveince so you dont have to wade through demos and games to find CaC that happens to be in the middle. For example
