Does PS3 have region?

I have family in Singapore right now offering to buy me games. I live in Australia. If the games are bought in Singapore will they work here?

Yeah all PS3 games work on any console I have a PAL PS3 as I live in the UK I own some American games and a game from Hong Kong and I've had no problems. However DLC is region restricted and the other problem are Blu Ray movies as some are region coded.
