I've found that even though xbox live is 59.99 a year, you can usually find it on discount for 35-40.00

I'm just wondering if you can find discounts on the ps service as well..

thanks!

All the time. Sometimes they would give a deal like $49.99 for 15 months..... Around the holidays and black friday are the best deals. Remember when the ps+ was $29.99 for a year at every major retailer around black friday?

Sony doesn't normally drop the price, but a lot of retailers will offer discounts on the subscription cards, especially around the holidays. Even at 50 bucks the service is well worth it though.

I picked up a year for $29.99 on black Friday. Haven't used it yet since I'm good till June. Hopefully they'll be doing the 15 month thing by then so I get a bonus three months.

Very rarely. Around Black Friday and Christmas they were on sale for $30 and $35. I was going to buy one then but didn't want to hold onto it until I got PS4.

Here's what I did to buy my subscription for less:

ebay. I won my bid on a 1-year subscription for $43 shipped. Pretty much $10 savings after factoring in what it would cost in tax. They are rarely on sale otherwise.

XBL Gold is often $40 while PS+ is rarely on sale and sells for $50 retail. PS+ is considered a much better value. Basically a difference of like 83 cents a month. I bought mine for $43 shipped from ebay so to me that savings is enough. Could've bought it ahead of time during the holidays but wanted to wait.

As everyone has said, wait until Black Friday and then grab 2. This is if you can't spring for the $50. Otherwise I'd say don't wait because you'll be missing out on adding to your game library.

@BH14: My only regret is that I only bought an one twelve-month card instead of two or three. Hopefully they'll have the deal this year too.
