[QUOTE="navstar29"][QUOTE="haseeb_1989"] [QUOTE="navstar29"]Why don't you realise that AT LAUNCH the PS3 was CHEAPER in Canada than the USA. Actually at launch the PS3 was the cheapest in Canada (ignoring Japan) !! You really expect the price to change everyday with the dollar, GET REAL!! stop complaining and just save some money its not that expensive, get a job @ minimum wage you should be able to pay off the PS3 with in 2 - 3 weeks even after taxes and all that good stuff! First of all the ps3 was never the cheapest in canada. Games in canada are always more expensive than they are in the states. Ex ninja gaiden collecters edition was $91 here.
Can't believe i have to pull out numbers,
November 17, 2006 $1.1458 CAD = $1 American Dollar
PS3 in America = 599.99 * 1.1458 = 687.48 > 659.99 (LAUNCH PRICE)
as i said before the PS3 (SYSTEM) was cheaper in Canada than it was in the US at launch, just because the Canadian Dollar has skyrocketed since then, is just a matter of coincidence.
As for games, (i know best buy isnt the best place for comparing games), its 59.99 US and its 64.99 CAN, NGS is actually 59.99 CAN right now, so i don't know what crap your talking about, and nor do i care for collector's editions.alright sir, how much tax do you pay in the US? we pay a 14% tax here, that is, according to your calculation,
687.48 * 1.14 = 783.73$ after taxes
and that is equal to 684 USD, that is 684 - 599 = 85 USD of tax, unless this is the amount you pay in extra because of tax, otherwise, all your calculations are just not valid as a result the conclusion is we pay more than you US people for the same stuff
But our taxes arent completely useless thanks to them we have one of the best health care systems in the world. You just go into the hospital show them your health card and you just walk in to get some treatment.
