Never in my life have I bought a used game. Hell, I've never even traded in a game. But him saying this statement has crossed the line. I am totally buying Modern Warfare 2 used. Sorry Infinity Ward, but you guys could of at least protested Activision's actions. Screw em.

As of now, that's only for the UK, even though I'm American, I sincerely hope it doesn't happen regardless, because if that game sells well even with that inflated price, what's to stop any company from doing the same thing? Pretty soon they'll be doing it everywhere then.

If that DOES happen in the US, I'm just not going to buy it until there is a sale or something. I could wait, there are more games that are looking better anyways.

And he is complaining about the price of the ps3. This is just sick. I also heard that DJ Hero with periphiral will cost either $120 or $199 depending on what version you want. $199 for a game..... that is nuts :shock:

You know whats even better? Spread out the PC version on b*********t(to avoid ban I'll leave the rest of the letters in that word to your own guesses). Oh yeah I think I'll follow TC as well and buy a second hand copy just for the sake giving my money to the jerks at EB instead of the Activision.

They also bumped UP the price of COD6 for PC to 60 bucks. PC games are always at least 10 bucks less. Hope they enjoy getting their game pirated, cause i bet a whole lotta PC gamers are going too! Plus the whole UK price thing, the whole might have to drop PlayStation thing, and his newest comments about wanting to raise prices higher...

Buy the game used. I'd still buy it new to support Infinity Ward, but it's horrible that I have to support Activision in the process. Hopefully IW will find another publisher to work with soon. Here's looking at you, Zenimax.

Activision used to be a company that was friendly to its developers and open to its customers. I knew exactly what kind of company Activision would become after Kotick took over. Hate for a person's way of thinking isn't reason enough for me to snub the developers under his company's wings though. I just don't support their exploitation of a series like Call of Duty by not purchasing the Treyarch-developed titles.

I don't hate his way of thought personally(though I disagree with it) and nor does that keep me from buying Activision games. I don't buy Activision games because none of them are of my taste in gaming. The last Actvision game I bought was Marvel Ultimate Alliance back at the launch of PS3. I'm sure I'll eventually get myself a copy of MUA2 and possibly Singularity if it turns out good. My second comment is more of a generalization.

I realize games cost more and more to develop these days, but they could, you know, charge LESS and make MORE sales.

Anyway, I know Amazon won't raise your price if you pre-order. Maybe I actually should do that for once.

He is just saying what every CEO is thinking. Every company would raise prices to meet a maximum profit margin. It was a stupid move to say it out loud. Him saying that translates to. "God, I have so much money, but people should pay more for my games so I can have more." While employees live day to day terrified about losing their job where they cant hold a candle to his exuberant income.

I'm never going to give them my money. If I want something from them, I'll get it used.

Sadly I think it is inevitable that game prices get an increase, whether it be later this gen or next.

I don't think he's bluffing. Actually game prices aren't that much higher today compared to 20 years ago, only 10-15 USD here in sweden. In that respect a higher price point isn't surprising. That said I agree with what you all said here. The question is how it will effect game sales, what are we as consumers willing to pay? Unfortunately I believe we haven't passed that limit yet, and so does Kotick as well, apparently.

As someone said above, cheaper games and more sales would be preferable.
