BATTLEFIELD 1943: Whatdaya Think?

I played the demo and I've read up on it, that it has three islands and all of the stuff... I was looking for a different online shooter and this one seems fun to me as a diversion... a "killing sorbet", if you will...

... so are any of you still playing and stuff? Or is there a New Hotness in terms of a downloadable cheapo shooter for online? I prefer FPS over third-person. Other suggestions are certainly entertained.

the game is still a blast, and still atop the PSN dload list.

It is however, coming up on a year old, and it shows its simplicity at times.

I loved it, one of the best arcade games you could buy, but I actually have it for xbox 360, not ps3. Anyways, it's a great game for the price, but it only has 3 maps, and 3 different default classes. It does have Air Superiority which is Airplane Dog Fighting, which is really fun. I still play the game all the time, when I'm not busy playing BFBC2, MW2, etc. IF your looking for a great arcade game, you should definatley pick this game up, I've had it since day one, and still play it occasionally. It's not hard to find a game, so a lot of people still play it, and is still one of the best sold arcade game to date, even coming up to a year.

i think that battlefield 1943, is a great game, they made it, so it fits the Battlefield genre.. but with a little twist, its simple, but still detailed enough to play, and its cheap,

I wouldn't mind DICE making another WWII game similar to 1943 but adding upgrades from BC2, putting in more maps, and making it a full priced game.

I thought the game was quite fun and still very good. Though, after not playing it for a while and trying to play it again after many months, I have noticed that I am very bad at it. I just keep getting killed all the time adn getting no kills myself. But yeah, overall it's a good game though. lol

Are there different play types, other than the C&H games "Battlefield" is known for? Like straight TDM or CTF?

I've been on PS2 online shooters for a loooong time... and CoD2 is still a rockin' game, I just don't have my PS2 in active duty any longer so I was lookin' for a surrogate.

Its pretty fun but i didnt play it that long. maybe a month then i stoped.
