$400 new is still a lot of money to me. I got my PS3 on ebay back in the day and I see 4s are going for $320-350 lightly used. However, I'd like to wait until generation two comes out so that the originals are going for $280-300 with a controller (used or lightly used that is). I don't want to get one for $350 on ebay now and a few months later have that be roughly the price NEW for one which is pretty much what happened with my PS3 when everyone sells their older model to get the newest one. Any thoughts on when this might happen?

@twizded Yeah I figure that. I'm more asking if anyone has heard of when a Generation 2 PS4 might be coming out so that the Gen 1s lower in price for both used and new. For example there were PS3 original, the Slim, and then the Superslim. So when each new gen game out, the older ones were always cheaper, since a lot of people were selling them to get the newest model.

Maybe that isn't going to happen anytime soon though, but it seems to be due for an upgrade within the next year or year and a half just going on past trends

nothing official but there are rumors that they can already slim down their consoles because parts just got cheaper like 4-5 months ago. Its rumors but if that means anything to you.

Just my opinion, ps4 slims wont come out til maybe end of 2016 or maybe even 2017 depending how sales go.

@jsmoke03 Yeah it was launched in Nov 2013 so I was kind of hoping the end of this year. But I just was looking online and it didn't launch until early 2014 in some countries which makes me think your estimate is probably accurate. Probably Spring 2016 at the absolute earliest. If that's the case I'll probably just suck it up and buy one, it's just so much money to drop on a console. Not that it isn't worth it or anything, I just generally get consoles, handhelds, phones, etc after a new one just came out, and get the version right before it

If you think $400 is a lot, maybe you should look at how other markets worldwide price their PS4's.

@GTR12 I mean it's still a lot though, regardless of whether or not it's "more expensive" somewhere else. That's actually very irrelevant to me saying I don't want to spend $400 on one at this point in time, things are different prices in different countries. And in, for example, Australia it's about $550 which equals about $420 USD. So the equivalent to $20 more give or take is not that substantial. Also, I'm in no way bashing the system by saying it's pricey (consoles have always been), I'm simply stating that $400 is very expensive to me at this point in time.

Price will lower when sales start to drop. Since it is doing so well not sure that will be any time soon.

If its too expensive "at this point in time". Then there's not much you can do but wait, just remember that the PS3 sold for $1000 in some markets *cough* Australia *cough* at launch and stayed at $600 1.5yrs later for a long period.

I have seen PS4 bundle with 3 games for $400 and $20 amazon credit on amazon recently. I also saw PS4 console for sale for $350 with free shipping/no tax on ebay a ton of times. With black friday, I am sure there will be another nice PS4 bundle deal. Last time it was the PS4 bundle with GTA V and TLOU.

When will PS4 price drop a little?

Keep on wishing cuz ain´t gonna happen soon.

E-bay is a good place to look for a better deal. MSRP PS4 price in Mexico is $7,500 pesos ( $500 US ), I got lucky and found mine at MercadoLibre ( e-bay Latin America ) for $6,000 ( $400 US ) and free shipping. $100 US less out of my pocket was not a bad deal.

Yeah, as I've already said, I'm willing to pay like $350 used I just wasn't sure if a new generation was on it's way but it doesn't seem so
