Why would Sony announce anything about games that aren't owned or developed by them?

Sony appears to be purposely spreading reveals out over the course of the year...not just E3. PSV was revealed at the beginning of the year. Sly Cooper was already teased with its HD Collection. Twisted Metal already had a big gameplay reveal. Starhawk was revealed last month. Dust 514, PSV pricing, the new 3D monitor, and Team Ico collection date was revealed at E3. I bet Last Guardian gameplay will be the big reveal at TGS. Its not a strategy that will "win" E3, but it keeps them in the news.
sony is in a console war with microsoft, not nintendo so sony will only drop the price of the ps3 if microsoft does it too

not really because nintendo is currently no competition for sony if you look at the wii and not the new nintendo console thats being revealed at nintendo's press conference. the only real competition sony has right now is microsoft's xbox 360

Theyy also didn't anounce PS4 and complete PS2 backwards compatibility, which made Kojima very angry so he created Transfarring.... using his resources for what Sony should pay him millions for using.
SOmething else that is sad is no Last Guardian gameplay, they would have won the show with that.
