I've been looking at FIFA 06, and Pro Evo 6/7 for the PSP and I'm trying to work out which one to get.  As far as playability goes, it does seem that Pro Evo is better, although I had one for the PS2 and it seemed to be too easy on one setting and too hard on the next one up.  And yes I enjoy the simplicity of FIFA but then it can be a bit too straightforward at times.  I like to be able to try little tricks every now and then, but I don't want to be doing lots of different button combos to try and pull off complicated moves.  As for licencing it doesn't bother me too much because I know can edit the teams and players at least on the new Pro Evo (can you on the old one?).  I'd like to be able to do an ongoing season mode with cup competitions although it seems none of them do that, with the new Pro Evo having Master League mode but no cup competitions I've heard, and the old Pro Evo not having cup competitions at all.  Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

I have both FIFA 06 + 07 and Pro Evo 5 + 6 (7 isn't out yet?) and I like Pro Evo 6 the most. But it depends what you like really, As for licensing, you cannot on either of the Pro Evos, edit kits. On both games you can do cups, leagues and of course there's master league, so don't listen to whoever told you otherwise. Also, the FIFA series have the manager mode, which is alot of fun.

I'm not really bothered about editing kits, but team and player names (and possibly appearences) would be good.  In Master League mode (Pro Evo 6 only?) can you do a full season with cups?  Say if you finish top 6 then you're in the UEFA Cup (or whatever it's called) next season?  Or if not then maybe in FIFA 06 Manager mode?

The manager mode doesn't allow you to play in cup competitions. PLaying in a cup is a different mode altogether. You just get promoted/relegated. However, on FIFA 07, it's certianly the case, you play leagues, cups and european cups all in the manager mode.

Basically, the FIFA series has the modes and the pro evo has the gameplay IMO.

I would go with Pro Evo 6 but it all depends on what you like.

Hope this helps you with your decision.

Oh so Fifa 07 on the PSP (and I assume on the PS2) has the full Manager Mode then?  Complete with ongoing league seasons with built-in cups (UEFA, CL, FA, League)?  Cos that would be groovy.

Please could someone tell me if manager mode does have league and cup competitions with qualifying for europe/playoffs etc for next season, because I'd like to buy it today if it does.  Also, I've read that you can transfer data between the PS2 and PSP, does this mean I could transfer by manager mode save across and continue it on both consoles?  Thanks.

How on earth is PES5 'more fun' than PES6?

PES5 has 2 modes.

PES6 has about 5 including master league, editing (although limited) and newer kits.

Not to mention the better gameplay.
