People have been pushing my discs straight back in to the ps4 after ejection without actually removing the disc first, would this be cause for concern or damage to the console?

Don't let people make use of your console and if you allow them to instruct them on how you want your console to be handled. Now, on the subject, no, it's not going to hurt your console, once ejected the disc is free to be pushed back in again.

Although I could see the mechanism getting damaged if they start pushing it back in really soon while it's still in its "eject mode"
