My PS3 won't start anymore and i am not sure why, maybe it's my controller.

Is there anyway to turn on the ps3 w/o using the controller?

On the front of the system. under the disc slot is a ledge looking thing on top of that is something that look like an l/circle with a like though it. press that it should turn on. The controller may just be out of power.

You have to press the power button on the PS3.

Right infront of your PS3's disc slot, there are two symbols. The one on the far right is the power button. The one in the center is the eject. Put your finger on the power button, and it will beep and turn on. It is not a button, but rather a sensor of some sort.

If it doesn't work, make sure it is plugged into the wall. Make sure that the wall socket works. Try the PS3 in a different area using a different outlet. Make sure the main switch on the back of the PS3 is on. If there is no display on the TV when it starts, shut off the PS3. When turning it on hold down the power button for about 10 seconds on startup, and the display will reset.

Just try plugging the controller in the PS3's USB slot.

If the battery on the controller is completely dead, it may take about 5-10 minutes for the lights on the controller to start blinking. So leave the controller plugged into the PS3, and the PS3 ON. If nothing happens after 10 minutes, try unplugging the controller and plug it back in... still nothing? Get a DS3.

that happened to my ps3 too

it plays all in black and white, games and the XMB

right before it boots up the TV screen goes all weird and then it goes into the XMB and everythings in black and white.

right before it happened i turned off my PS3 with the switch at the back straight from when it was still on.

does anybody have any advice?

do i have to repair my PS3?

thanks
