PS3 headphones compatible with PS4?

I was looking for headphones and can't find any that are for PS4 unless I want to spend like $80 to $150 for a pair and that's out of my price range.

My son is using that headset on his PS4, and they work fine.

PS4 uses any standard plug in headset.

Yeah, well Turtle Beach says nearly every one of their headphones work on PS4, but most don't. Can't go by their website.

Turtle Beach is trash at any price.
