My PS3 isn't turning on!

Few minutes ago I was playing and the game freezes and I couldn't turn it off so I decided to switch it off, but when I wanted to restart it... The light is red but won't let me turn in from the console and the controller isn't picking any signal.

What should I do?

Switch it off from the back, unplug it for a few mins. Plug it back in and turn the switch on. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds till you hear a second beep (this resets the console) once its back on if your controller still isnt synced up plug it into the usb port....Hope it helps.

Send it in for repairs. Switching it off from the back may corrupt the hdd.Rawrmachine

Lol my bad. Hopefully unpluggin it and doing a reset helps him though

Try it, if the 40GB hdd works plug the other one in a laptop and try to find the problem.

It didn't work

okay so i was playing cod4 talking to ppl and all the sudden my ps3 shut down. i went to turn it on and it went to a red screen and i shut it down and tryed again and still a red screen, so i put every thing away and i came back to try again and no screen came up just a plain black screen, and my controler wont connect.

Please help!
