Can you do 2-player online with COD4?

PS3. COD4

Still getting used to this. I know it's possible to play local split screen with a friend and to play single player online with a lot of strangers, but is there anyway to play online with just one friend? (i.e 2 consoles, 2 games, 2 players, different locations)?

If you are looking to play 1 on 1 online with a friend, I am not sure. I know that some CODs have had 1v1 online modes, if that is the case with COD4 then yes you should be able to, if not, i don't see a way that you can

If you mean to get in a party and go find a match online against strangers in like team death match then, just invite them when you are in the online menu before you go search for a match and that person will be in your group. If you mean a 1 v 1 online match with just you and your friend without strangers joining then you can just set up a private match. Set the private match up with the setting you like and invite your friend. Finally start the match and play.
