For me its definitely FFVIII takes the first place followed by FFX..

No spoilers guys..

What are ur opinions-Either psx,ps2 or ps3 game with romance between the protagonist and the heroine?

Does any ps2 jrpg have a Love triangle in it apart from WILD ARMS 5.

I totally think Valkyria Chronicles could come right out of a romance novel or something. Its the first RPG that comes to my mind with that sort of theme, but there is a lot more to that game than just a love theme.

Its actually not too hard to find them for the PS2. A lot of RPG's harp on a romantic theme but branch off to cover more aspects. Basically every Final Fantasy Game, Persona 4 PS2 (editors choice), Dark Cloud 2 PS2 (editors choice), Star Ocean PS2, Tales of the Abyss PS2, among a bunch of others for PS2 amost too many to name.

PS3 doesn't have a lot out...yet! There are a bunch of RPG's comming our way in the next year and following. Eternal Sonata and the stated Valkira Chronicals are the only ones out there atm in stores. Rorona no Atelier is an import game from Japan and has gotten really good reviews, though not many, if you want to look into that.

oh ok... I thought this thread was just talking about PSX and PS3 games. Also, why in mother of **** did Sony not put FF8 up as a PSX Classic. I totally need to play it again and it costs to much on ebay.

Xenogears. It may not be the most romantic, but it's a more realistic portrayal of a relationship than most games. The confusion felt, the reasoning behind it, struggling to figure out if it's meaningful or shallow, the sexual urge to be one, the understanding of separation...Even though the game doesn't make a point to center around the love story, it's very integral to the storyline and a much more well-thought out and mature presentation than most games, which tend to merely end at "I love you!" and a kiss.

Xenosaga: Episode III also explores these concepts in a somewhat different (more female perspective), but still very real feeling manner.

For the best love story, I'd say Lunar II: Eternal Blue for PS1. I don't want to spoil it for any who may come across it, but the seeing the emotional progress that a certain character makes through the story is awesome.

Lunar 1 & 2. Lunar 2 ending was sad and great at the same time because it was unexpected.
