Literally, it's borderline unplayable, I'm driving over invisible roads...

Think we will be able to get refunds? I genuinely feel ripped off.

I heard that there was increased pop-in and loading times on the digital download version before my download finished. I thought it was going to be minor, yet the second I arrived to Los Santos, I experienced massive amounts of pop-in. The cutscenes are really hard to watch because they often cut before everything even loads into the scene. There's a mission immediately where you drive a fast car. At 90% speed, I was out-speeding the game's ability to load the road. I can't even imagine if I was flying a plane or something.

I've had pop in too but after 10 or so minutes of playing it had completely stopped.

I noticed after playing more that the issue became less and less prominent. Still, whenever going fast I see a draw-distance fog creep in and things start to pop in. I don't really know what to make of it.

It actually made me re-enable adblock for Gamespot to block the image. On topic though, I have the digital version and it has been totally fine so far.

Diversity may be due to slow HDD's versus faster ones. Where as a blu-ray is going to be standardized across all PS3's. I'm sure they'll patch it eventually. Probably just give the game a bigger HDD cache'

I'm experiencing pop-in, low FPS and horrible textures.. I mean seriously, the game looks like shit. Now installing the game via a friends disc on my PS3 and going to see if there's any difference. I'm on a PS3 Slim with an upgraded HDD. The reason why I bought the game via PSN was because of the loud noises the PS3 slim makes when reading discs, compared to my fat PS3 which died...

Laughing at all the people who upgraded their HDD's to a bigger one but kept the 5400RPM speed one as a faster one would cause heat issues.

I wondered if this would be the case. They said if you install both discs on the 360 it has a lot of pop ip because it wants to stream from both the disc and the drive. I bet a faster drive would eliminate this.

Wow.  I was just coming here to ask this.  I have the 360 version and was slightly annoyed I couldnt just download it.  I started reading about "Dont install the second disc on 360" and was also slightly annoyed.  I dont want to put extra wear on these older consoles.  The reason behind not installing both makes sense.  Pulling data from the same source will obviously slow data rate for both.  Anytime I've ever transfered two large files at once to/from the same hard drive it's obviously slower.

This game already seems to be a great technical achievement considering the hardware on these consoles.  Hopefully they'll be a video showing this.  I'd be a little annoyed if I bought digital only to find this out AFTER the fact.  I've noticed zero pop in on 360 when running disc/hdd combo.

Yea..thats not cool.  Again, really surprised Rockstar and Sony didnt note that or just not offer it for download at all.

Looks like Sony is offering refunds for those who are having issues like myself.

that is why i never plan on going digital, we are not even at the point where digital is 100% reliable, stable and so on. I bought the disc because it was 100% ovious that a game this big would screw up if i decided to download it. One of my friends downloaded it and he has mentioned about the problems he's getting with it.

Came here to ask the same thing. I am willing to sacrifice resale value for the convenience of not getting of my couch to change the disk. But, lower perfomance is unacceptable.
