For one the slim can fit virtually everywhere!

the fat has only one power cable (power supply internal with fan)

the slim needs the stand for upright position

the fat has enough base to stand on it's own!

 expansion bay for the fat guy! Bigger is usually better! however the software was updated on the slim.

I personally like the slide out tray for the Fat PS2 as opposed to the pop up for the slim (insides of the games can be damaged if not handled properly).

Also, you forgot to mention that the PSTwo Slimline has a built-in Internet Adapter.  Not to mention that some peoples' fatty PS2s have trouble playing dual-layered DVDs.  The slimline looks better too, and there aren't any disk drive errors, considering that there isn't a disk drive.

Fatty in general has a longer expected lifetime than the slimline

smaller = more fragile

I have the fat ps2, but the thing is.  I got it for free.  That is an easy choice.  Mine is a version 4 revision.  Before you buy I would suggest picking the version you want as each one handles games differently.  The some of the older ps2's cannot play the new games well or at all.  The new ps2 slimlines can play all the mediums.  However, on both the slimline and fat versions of the ps2.  There have been faults that break certain games.  So I would suggest looking for the most compatible revision model that fits your needs.  The old fat ps2's I think went through fourteen revisions and the new slimlines are on three or four revisions now.  Good luck!

As far as durability goes, both versions are unpredictable on how well they'll perform. The big version I think is better, I have the 4th or 5th version (39001) with the HDD to play imported games with very little to no load times.

Fattie: +Expansion Bay+Stands vertical unassisted-Ethernet adapter is seperate-Old, and prone to DVD reading issues  Slimmy:+Built in ethernet-No expansion bay-Need Vertical Stand to... stand it vertically-Thin to a fault, will be utterly destroyed at the slightest impact

why does everyone say the thin one breaks easily. Yes it looks fragile but mine has taken a few blows (younger siblings) and its still intact and works fine. Slimline is only being rejected because people hate the fact that the improved one is cheaper than the fatty.

I dont like my fat much cause i have problems with it alot (mainly with the laser not slidiing well on the metal pin inside. I also dont like the tray very much but thats mostly cause it wont open very fast sometimes and makes the stupid noise due to the problem with the pin i said earlier. Id take a slim one over my fat one anyday.

 So what your saying is that you would gladly accept a new PS2 in exchange for your broken PS2?

Im saying the slim cant possibly be worse than the fat one, if I could have a new fat or a new slim I would pick the slim one, thats what Im saying. Guess I put it a little weird in my last comment, didnt mean "my" fat one as it is now, more like if it was new and not "broken" as u put it. It still works though.
