Dead or Alive VS Tekken

Dead or Alive is only good for a few minutes max as the gameplay is not too good. It also depends on sex to sell. It's strongest asset, online play is about to go down now as Tekken DR for the PS3, and the upcoming home versions Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur IV will support online play. When those two games come out, poor Itagaki and his boob tastic fighting game is history.

To add to that, DoA has allways gotten poor support, nobody takes their games too seriously as the DoA games for the arcade almost has no fanbase. Tekken (as well as Soul Calibur) does have a strong following all over the world. Perhaps if DoA was not so shallow that people would consider them as worth while fighting games. But that isn't the case.

After playing DOA2:hardcore at a friends, I ran to the store to buy it the very next day. I had somehow not heard of it till I played it there, and it was one of the most beautiful and fun games I had seen.

Even though Tekken Tag and Tekken 5 are clearly better games, something about DOA certainly caught my eye. I even like the Xtreme ones *hides*

I really don't like DOA all that much, and the constant fan service really kills the experience for me, it just feel like I'm playing porn (which is all fine and dandy, when you're in the mood for porn, but I like to play a game on occasion too). Don't get me wrong, I'm not basing my opinion of DOA solely on that, it does have some solid game play and is fun to pick up and play with your friends, but only when you don't have Tekken 5 available.

Maybe I'm just really biased, because I have been a Tekken fan for a long time now, but Tekken is much for fun than DOA in my opinion. The characters all feel different than each other, I just don't get that from DOA characters. Each girl in DOA seems exactly like every other gil in DOA and I don't get that from Tekken, which is great.

Over all, I think it's obvious, but I would vote Tekken.
