I wouldnt consider Hitman Trilogy for game of the year because each game included has already been releasd but Hitman seris is good, and lets hope the movie doesnt suck.
Gow 2, the developer really delivered on the second game. This game has definitely will start a trend of similar games, I hope Conan the Barbarian which is in developmentcan measure up.
of all thegames released for the ps2 this year, i only have rogue galaxy, GOW2, and burnout dominator. guitar hero 3 is yet to come but i think that will be my bet for PS2's best game this year.
definately tomb raider anniversary, soul calibur 3 or buffy; chaos bleeds. my favourites of all time.
tomb raider anniversary was seriously underated, i loved it, even though it was a 're-make'. it was shorter than the original, but strangely, it was a rare occasion where the remake is better than the original. we love you lara.
i was looking foreward to tomb raider for months and i was not disapointed.
Ummm i went as far as calling it a "typical jrpg" in another thread, but ahhh Persona 3 is UNREAL...and no i have no idea why i having so much fun with this game, no i am not 13, and im not japanese...I KNOW WTF RIGHT!?!

It is the best game I've played all year. No game released this year can compare, no game released before the end of the year will compare to it either. It's that good.
Persona 3, hands down. I beat God of War II the second day I bought it. I am only 1/3 through Persona 3 and I have had it for nearly two weeks.I would say that Persona 3 is probably going to be the best PS2 game to come out all year.
