Cheers ! This is my first post :D I was wondering if there has been a a game that change your personality or lifestyle. For me, it has been Street Fighter. It pushed me to start a martial art, and now I'm black belt 3rd dan in hapkido. What's the game that changed your life ?

I would probably say Counter-Strike. Although I don't play it much anymore it's the game that got me into seroius pc gaming to start and drove me to build my very first home built computer.

I would say Counter-Strike but honestly I think Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2 really changed my gaming world. They were one of the most fun I had with an online multi-player game. After that, I was more focused on FPS games. All the Call of Duty games after 4 were complete crap.

Super Street Fighter 2 (SNES). I put hours and hours into it when I was a kid. Nowadays, I can barely stomach a fighting game. :P

Probably Final Fantasy 7 for introducing me to that Genre.

Resident Evil for showing me games can be scary.

Baldurs Gate 2 and others in that specific D&D Genre for introducing me to my favourite genre.

As it goes for big life impacts probably WOW for getting me friends and being social in a Networking way which is something i hadnt done before to that extent.

Ocarina of Time. This game really raised the bar and my standards. It left an impression unlike any other game I have ever played.

Other noteworthy games are SimCity 2000 & Sid Meiers' Alpha Centauri.

Neverwinter Nights. About six or seven years ago I was hopelessly addicted to Diablo II. I couldn't play anything else, I was obsessing over character builds and doing very unhealthy 10-to-8 overnighters. Then I happened to went down and bought a copy of Neverwinter Nights. Played it for a few hours, then tried to go back to Diablo II. Suddenly found the latter to be stale, shallow and boring. Neverwinter Nights cured my Diablo II addiction.

LOL same here. I remember playing that game for hours and hours with friends, figuring out the best ways to beat their moves and playstyles, screaming at the controller when I know a move I did didn't register :P

I personally spent more time with Street Fighter 2 than Super Street Fighter 2 though -- using mostly Ken and Guile and taking advantage Guile's cheapness (slow sonic boom + throw) of course. Man, those were the days!!! Honestly, other than the Battlefield series I don't think I ever played or enjoyed local or online multiplayer any more than that.

I don't know, a game that changed my life forever sounds just a tad dramatic but I'll mention No One Lives Forever. That was probably the [awesome] game that got me hooked on first person shooters and I haven't looked back since -- love the immersion of the viewpoint and the feeling of exploring your environment. I had played Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, etc before, but the genre just didn't "click" for me at the time. NOLF influenced me to finally get around to playing Half-Life which I loved as well.

Probably half life. It was the first shooter I remember playing and probably one of the first violent games I remember playing. But also, it was the most memorable.

Bioshock. Bioshock really opened up a new realm to me. It wasn't just a game; I learned a lot from playing it and got into some fancy literature and such.

I think Super Mario All Stars... that was probably the first game I got that made video games a hobby. I did have other PC games before my SNES, but I played them sparingly. I actually played Super Mario practically non-stop. After finishing all the games in All Stars, I got Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong, etc.. and it just developed into a hobby I invested a lot of time in.
