Logitech G5. I don't know if it's under $50 now, but it's a great mouse.

I think it is exactly $50 now. I agree with this. A cheaper alternative would be the MX518 which is basically a cheaper G5 without the adjustable weight.

Depending on your needs, Microsoft 3.0, or 1.1a, for higher DPI, Logitech G5 or the MX518. Personally dont like them as the G5 sensor is off center and isnt good for my style of gameplay, the 518 has a high lift off, which i swipe my mouse quite often, and certain is no fun. The razor mice are just not all that great IMO, to not lasting that long(sensors die a lot), buttons having some where input lag, and simply I'm just no fan of razor products for longjevity of hardware.

Another vote for G5.

My first generation G5 was getting sort of old (it still worked perfectly, just looked rough), and I bought yet another one (the revised model) not too long ago. Awesome mouse.

I have both the Logitech MX518, and the Razor Deathadder. They're both really good, however I prefer the feel of the DeathAdder over the other.

I use a Logitech MX510 and think it works great. My understanding is the MX518 is newer technology and supports a higher DPI, but is the same shape, buttons, etc.

I use a G5 and don't have any complaints. It gives you a real edge in multiplayer games. Skids nicely, non-kinking cord, adjustable dpi for sniping, convenient thumb button which has all sorts of uses. Its the perfect mouse.

the mx518 is an optical mouse and the g5 is a laser mouse. The laser is more accurate. the g5 also allows you to add or take away weight to get the right feel for you. Aslo the g5 goes to 2000 dpi and the mx518 only to 1600 dpi but this is sort of trivial to be honest.

I'm throughing my weight in for the old-but still incredibly **** awesome mx518. Its just a great mouse... corded, great accuracy, comfortable, durable, plenty of buttons, on the fly sensitivity switching for only $30 bucks. This ones 1.5 years old... and except for being a little worn looking it still works like a charm.

The original Microsoft Sidewinder. Great thumb buttons, the BEST scroll wheel ev4r, on-the-fly switchable DPI with an electronic display, interchangable colored mouse feet and weights, and even a sort of rubber-coated case that acts as a cable anchor. Even the clicking action feels GREAT. A must have.

Deathadder, the 2007 one with 1800 dpi. I'd say g5 too, but i think they only sell the g500 now. They're almost the same but i still liked the g5 2007 edition more. The wire peeled and it stopped working and i was given a g500 as replacement, i'd love to have a g5 again :(

why so many bumped mice threads?

o well

depends if you have medium sized hands get the razer abyssus(height of person anything from 0-5'10)

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Abyssus-Precision-Optical-Gaming/dp/B002XLR0JI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347821487&sr=8-1&keywords=razer+abyssus

if you have big hands get a g9x http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Mouse-Call-Duty/dp/B005S0KHIC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1347821478&sr=8-2&keywords=g9x

i use the abyssus, better than WMO

most QL players use the abyssus or the WMO, and QL players are generally normal sized people.

BF3 gamers are in love with the g9x (bf3 gaimerz are generally ginormous)

I just bought two Logitech G400s. They're the successor to the MX518. If you dont mind optical they are a good mouse and I got em for $30 each. No weight management or anything fancy but for a durable mouse with good form factor - Im okay with the price.

I figure why not bump a thread from 2008. DA has a better sensor and works well on higher DPIs and best at 1800 dpi which was the max DPI for the MX518, DA works well with all grips, G9X is made for fingertip grip and I love the weights on it but the sensor is worse than both the G400 and DA , G400 only tracks well at 400 and 800 DPI and cannot be fingertipped although regular claw grip works fine but it is mostly a palm mouse. TLDR: Deathadder - best sensor, almost as comfortable as the G400, works with all grips.

Another bumped thread, and I just bumped it. I'd like to say Deathadder but the glossy sides make for poor gripping. Logitech has some nice ones with good grip.

If you're a serious gamer then the grip provided by the cheese doodle film on your mouse should make up for glossy sides.

I'm currently using the Razer Abyssus right now and it's pretty nice. The design is simple and it only cost around $30 on Amazon.

Ive been looking into a new mouse. Ive had 2 G5s in the past. They are solid, but only lasted me about 6 months. Currently im using a MX518. Its ok, but just standard. I am looking to get a Naga cause the side buttons would be useful to me. Anyone have any thoughts on the Naga?

Meh, I gave in and bought a Naga on Newegg cause it was $12 off.

@Jiggly I love FPS but I dont play them nearly to the degree that you do with Quake. I think it will be fine for Boarderlands and CoD.

No idea whose nerd site this is, stuck in google but:

http://ravenlanclan.com/1337HARDWARE/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=64&osCsid=5c13d270de2760f60557f28a6d5b5054

Easily best mouse for doing everything. It has 2 buttons for mmos so you can use all your binds on your keyboard instead of being a noob. It has like 5 dpi so you can get better at fps instead of spinning in circle like retard It works for both left hand and right hand so you can be master-baiter while getting all the kills. I use this everyday on video game and at work because it improves my efficiency levels.
