Actually the tressFX hair is much more detailed compared to the hair in Alice Madness Returns.

detailed? its strands of hair.... there is no detail. both flow naturally, both look like individual strands of hair, both have a nice shine to them, both have a hair texture to them. i have played both games, there is almost no difference between the two. MAYBE tomb raider's hair has more body or something, but there is little to no difference. the performance impact is easy to measure. alice ran at over 80fps.... tomb raider, with tressFX on, runs at like 15fps...even if you take in to account that tomb raider does tesselation and HDR, its not hard to see that clearly the hair in Alice was far less impactfull on performance due to tesselation and HDR NOT accounting for a drop of 60FPS....Â
Nope Lara has much more detail in the hair.

no, it doesnt. they look almost identical in quality. they are both wispy, both drape over things, both have a nice shine... the only difference you are seeing is laura's hair is styled whereas alice's hair is long and straight. seeing them in game and in motion, they have near identical properties to them. infact, i would have to say that the hair in Alice is far more effective because it actually clumps up like real hair does in motion, unlike the TressFX hair that just goes **** EVERYWHERE in individual strands when you are running.
face it dude, TressFX is a resource hog and is fail right now. maybe after they optimize it and make it less spazzy it will be worth using.
