What do you guys think is the worst port ever? I would have to say Saints row 2 ive heard Residant evil 4 was bad also.

SR 2, there's no game that looks as horrible as SR2, plays as horribly as it and runs as bad as it does.
Any game that has one or more of the following
- Forced widescreen aspect ratio, with 4:3 letterboxed
- Framerate lock that's under 60 FPS
- No mouse support in menus
- "Press a button to start"
- Bad mouse & keyboard controls
- Un-remappable mouse & keyboard controls
- No graphics options aside from the resolution
- No dedicated servers if the game is a multiplayer game
- Has a GUI that feels like it should belong to a console (for example, Oblivion)

Any game by Capcom: Lost planet, DMC 4 (if you didn't have a 360 controller for ur pc), resident evil 1-4.
I thought capcoms recent ports especially devil may cry 4 where excellent pc ports :| and a good example of how to port a game to the pc. complaining that Its plays better with a gamepad is like blizzard porting over starcraft to console and people calling it a bad port because it doesn't play as well as the mosue and keyboard. Bottom line some games play better with a gamepad and DMC4 is one of those.[QUOTE="-Origin-"][QUOTE="mattuk69"]

That sums it up pretty goodGTA 4 should get an honourable mention in this topic too. The list of problems with GTA 4 are absolutely staggering and range from completely missing in game assets to totally unprofessional graphic glitches and horrendous spec requirements (2,000mb Graphics RAM to max the game out).
Infact the game is quite unique in that Rockstar Toronto have managed to make the game WORSE after 5 patches. I used to be one of those that defended this sorry arse port but no more, patch 5 (they couldn't even get the version number right) was the final straw for me.
[QUOTE="naval"]RE 4 on PC from what I heardNibroc420Lies, it was Crysis. Yeah man, Crysis was the worst port ever. Seriously though, Resident Evil 4 was terrible on PC but Saints Row 2 seems worse.
Agreed. They didn't even really change the interface to the point where if you needed to do text entry, you couldn't just type it with the keyboard. No, you had to use the numpad to NAVIGATE A VIRTUAL KEYBOARD like you were playing with a gamepad, nevermind that most PCs ALREADY HAVE A FULL KEYBOARD RIGHT THERE TO ENTER TEXT WITH. That right there is a sign of They Just Didn't Care when it comes to porting.Final Fantasy 7 & 8

[QUOTE="MrLions"][QUOTE="Yoshi25"]May I ask whats not to like? It runs nicely, controls are outstanding, and they added stuff to it whats not like to like? I get beyond irritated whenever I try to exit the game. alt-f4 is what i used for resident evil 4 and assassins creed to exit the gameI'm not too happy with Assassin's Creed honestly.

This was a pretty tough game, so I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to play this game using a mouse and keyboard.

You're delusional man. Lost Planet and DMC4 are awesome on the PC. SFIV as well. Have you even played them on PC?
I've said it many times: the only bad PC versions of recent Capcom games were not even handled by Capcom, and were instead outsourced (as was the case with Resident Evil 4.)
Anyway, I'm going to have to second TFU. It's certainly the worst in recent memory, at least..and it's probably up there as one of the worst ever. Luckily, the game really isn't worth playing anyway (having rented the 360 version.)

Honestly, you're just looking for attention. Even if you don't think it was a good "port" (if you can call a game that was clearly designed with the PC in mind from the start a "port"), there are thousands of other games out there that are much worse.
A multiplatform game is not the same thing as a port, people.
RE 5 was such a bad pc port that the default setting for looking down the sight of your gun is scrolling.nimatoad2000
Is that a joke? That's like complaining that a game defaults to 800x600 resolution.
So you have to take 2 seconds and change it. Big deal.
What's with all the Capcom haters? They've been awesome to the PC community, and the PC versions of their multiplatform games (the ones they handled themselves, anyway) have been better optimized than the vast majority of PC-only titles.....
edit: typo, left out the "been" in "have been better"

Not that I'm a Capcom hater, I like all their games except RE 5, but really, the vast majority of PC only games are way better than the ones Capcom makes. I prefer gameplay and complexity over simplicity and polish. Capcom games are fun and run great, that's about it.Not that I'm a Capcom hater, I like all their games except RE 5, but really, the vast majority of PC only games are way better than the ones Capcom makes. I was referring only to engine optimization & polish, not gameplay or overall game quality. To reword it: Capcom's recent releases have been more polished and better optimized than most of the recent notable PC-only releases. Which makes it a joke to even mention any of these games in a "worst PC port ever" thread.
Also, Capcom is generally filling a genre gap on the PC platform with most of its releases..so it's difficult to pit PC-only titles against Capcom's multiplatforms anyway. There's really nothing on the PC side that one can even compare with them.
