I posted my project LOE here a while ago. Here are the latest videos to the Might and Magic inspired game.

LOE is a free not for profit Might and Magic inspired fan based game being created with Rpg Maker VX. LOE is an advanced cross between Might and Magic VII and Might and Magic IV & V – World of Xeen. Some of the features included in LOE include: a dynamic random treasure and enchantment system (more complex than the MM games), a six member party, over 20 skills and 70 spells, material bonus's for equipment (silver, gold, etc), and much more.

Grimrock is ok. It has good graphics, but I am not particularly a fan of the gameplay. For example the way magic is used, right clicking on the character to attack, only three classes to choose from, and the such. However, it is still good to see a party based dungeon crawler. Although I haven't played through the entire game, I am assuming Grimrock is strictly just a dungeon exploring game. Grimrock is game geared towards those who like dungeon master and eye of the beholder-like games.

LOE is strictly inspired by Might and Magic which is a completely different style of gameplay altogether. For those who have played MM - World of Xeen and MMVI-VIII will know what I am talking about. LOE won't have the new graphics as you see in grimrock, but you will see both dungeons and an outdoor world to expore, a dynamic random treasure system with tons of different bonus types (more than the might and magic games), ten character classes with each having two promotions each (paladin, crusader, hero), and plenty of more. For those who enjoyed the older might and magic games should find themselves at home with LOE.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Erthia sounds almost like Erathia, the setting for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and Might and Magic 7.

The game looks interesting, but I don't like the fact that some of the art assets are ripped off from some Might and Magic games. Emulating gameplay can be a great thing, but ripping art directly from other games is not ethical, unless those assets are legally made open and free to use by all. Ubisoft, owners of all Might and Magic intellectual property, would have a court case against the makers of this game.
