This tech demo's are a extermly bragging contest. All of them run off atlesat i7 and 580's. Since only 5 percent of people have that type of stepup, if even that you will not see this type of graphics, since it would raise the dev cost for something on a fraction of people could use.

I'm not an employee of GS. I'm litterally just a community member who makes sure you guys follow the ToS. That's it. I can have my own opinions all I want.

Us mods aren't godly figures and shouldn't be thought of that way on these forums. We are normal posters with opinions. We can be right or wrong about something. Nothing we say about video games is set in stone or a fact. The only place we have authority is when we organize the discussion boards and enforce the ToS.

And what are you trying to say about Americans? Clearly you haven't been to America to see that we are far from what the media protrays, especially in other countries.

Anyone remember this video? Is it safe to say that none of the physics-related features are still in the game? Or are they still?

That video was impressive, the refelctions and lighting o nthe card was near lifelike and the forest was incredible. Too bad 3d tech levels have stagnated due to cash cows of the consoles.....they have far too long of a life. Console tech is over 6 years old.

This demo is far from full potential of CE3. I can't understand why people think so. This is just a sample. Far from best, far from full potential. Crytek doesn't show even full potential of lighting techniquie of CE3 in this demo. And other parts are simple.

That doesn't run in realtime

Those're realtime graphics. CryEngine sandbox editor have only realtime preview. If you can't run it in realtime, you can't make it.

Too much blur for my tastes. I don't see the point in high quality art assets, if you are going to fuzz them up.

Regardless, we are never going to see that detail, because CryEngine 3 is cross platform. Every game made with it will most likely have a console dragging behind it.

Epic's new title is called "Samaritan." It has that Deus Ex HR "dark" vibe to it. But everything else is left in the dark per se. No clue how this one is going to play out. :P

Edit: Well, that's a load of crap from Gametrailers. I am 1000% sure that it said "Epic Games' new title" yesterday. Now it says "Epic Games' newest tech." Two words changed, and it also changed the whole meaning completely. Not good. Oh well.

Well Cryengine 2 was impressive. Cryengine 3 I didn't expect anything better but I was wrong. Cryengine 3 does make the models look more cinematic like in those in-game Bink cinematics. I ran the Crysis 2 Beta on my computer with maximum graphics and it was great. Unreal Engine 3 is still the leading and equivalent of Cryengine 3. Also the sandbox hasn't been released yet for Cryengine 3.

Too much blur for my tastes. I don't see the point in high quality art assets, if you are going to fuzz them up.
