i just installed TF2 but when i try to run it, there is a pop up box titled "Engine Error" and it says "No permission to run 'tf'". help please, how can i play TF2?
To verify files go to the steam My games tab right-click Team Fortress 2 select 'properties', then click 'local files' tab and click 'Verify integrity of game cache...'
It could just be a corruption of its files so give those things a try.
If you cant get it working go to the steam site and submit a question in the technical help section of the site. If you attach an image and stick details of your problem in there too it will help.
Anyway, give that a try and see what they come up with.
I have a Engine Error message as well, actually more then one. Engine Error RecvTable_MergeDeltas: overflowed in RecvTable 'ST_TFPlayer' and GetDynamicBaseline: FindStringIndex(165-CTFFlame Thrower) failed and GetDynamicBaseline: FindStringIndex(48-CFuncConveyor) failed Any Ideas? My Specs are as follows: CPU- AMD Phenom II x4 Ram - 4GB Graphics - Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1GB OS - Vista Home Premium SP1 HDD - 320GB WD
Ok I finally figured out why its been acting up. It was the simplest thing that passed me. The server i was going to was going through changes, like updating or what not. Now it is working
