Never done it myself but I could see issues...doesn't hurt to try I guess.
I've played MMO's over a 3g network and it played just fine. I couldn't imagine satelite not working. Download the trial and find out. If it doesn't work, so be it.

Got a guild mate who have that internet in Rift. He playes just fine no laggs or dc's for him.
My friend had satellite for a long time. Horrendous Internet, incredibly slow and messed up when clouds appeared overhead. Videos were pointless to try to watch, youtube or whatever. But games I know he could play perfectly with no lag.
Not sure about sattelite, but just yesterday I was playing Lineage 2 at the beach with mobile internet. That can't be much faster than satellite, can it?
