Added bud, thought I had you on my list already :P
haha nice one :DIf you have an nvidia card,go to the nvidia control panel and create a custom resolution there. Then you can select the resolution from crysis' graphics settings.
If the native resolution of your monitor is 1280x1024,create a custom res of 2560x2048.

thanks for the advice, I'm having a problem with CCC, though. It just won't install. I try to run the installer and it says "a referral was returned by the server". I downloaded CCC 2.21. Which version are you using? And is your Crysis a steam copy?

AMD/ATI's CCC? Funny you should mention that...when I last had an AMD/ati card (a 4870), the CCC didn't work at all for two years :P

Hahaha. No, Crysis CCC mod. But, also funny you should mention that. I had the same issue with laptop. It has an ATi HD4670, and Catalyst Control Center worked fine when I got it, but it just stopped working for no reason, and didn't for well over a year. I did everything there was to try to fix it, and it just wouldn't work. Then, about a month ago, my harddrive crashed, and went BSOD on me. Had to get a new harddrive, reinstall windows, and start again from the ground up. I don't even know what version of CCC I have now, but it works. So I'm stoked on that.
Incoming mess of Crysis screenshots. Just using the Extreme Quality config file, and every HD texture pack I could find. I want to be using a TOD mod, but I can't seem to find one. CCC doesn't want to install for me, and I've tried Natural Mod, but it doesn't look as good I remembered it. Also tried the Extreme Immersive Mod, but it doesn't look very good in anything but night time. Looks pretty cool when it's dark, and there's a shootout going on, like in that video, but once the sun comes out, you realize there's no more color. It's damn near black and white. And the excessive head/weapon bob is very hard to get used to.
Anyway, I'm doing a run on Delta diffiiculty, here's a bunch of screens.
One reason why I like the Uncharted games on the Ps3 were the exotic locations. It turns out, Far Cry 3 has em too. I love the temple.

I can't check right now,but I am pretty sure that it was lower than 2.21.I think it was 1.8 something.I will tell you after I have access to my PC. I have a retail copy.Oh man, this makes me want to replay Crysis so much now that I have a PC that won't die trying to run it.
@call_of_duty_10- you can sign up to Minus, it's got lots of space and doesn't convert your BMPs
Mass Effect 2
Same Shepard, new face. Well, sort of. I just made the chin more prominent and realistic.
I'm also taking it slow this time, gonna finish all the exploration missions, and, umm...talk to my crew.
Umm...right. I think we all know this krogan is looking at the goods.
For the best results, play on a resolution that has 4x the amount of pixels in your native res. In your case, that would be 3840x2160.You won't even need antialiasing or anisotropic filtering, because the pixel density will take care of all the flaws.Even the bad textures will look amazing. Thanks to call_of_duty_10's advice I'm now running games in 2560x1440, and it is glorious!
mitu123
I know that the framerate will be bad,and it will obviously be impossible to play the game, but you should try it to witness the power of downsampling.

Turns out I remembered wrong.I have 2.21. If it still isn't working, you can try blackfire's mod.I haven't tried it myself, but the screenshot on the install screen looks like ccc.A game I bought on the current sale:Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. It's beautiful and challenging, graphically it reminds me a bit of Trine at times. Played for about an hour, so far it's pretty fun. What I dig here is the transitional gameplay between the two Sisters, hopefully it's used for some clevel puzzle solving.
"Its like Skyrim with guns"
Was holding out for this game on Steam sale, but couldn't wait any longer. I'm only a few hours in, but its absolutely fantastic. As disappointed as I was in Far Cry 2, I'm that impressed with Far Cry 3. I can see myself getting seriously addicted to this puppy. This visuals are insane- I'm getting about 50-60fps with a GTX 670 on Ultra.
Question for those that might know: I set ambient occlusion to HBAO, as I read that HBAO is for Nvidia cards and HDAO is for AMD cards....is that true? I noticed no difference between the two, other than HDAO having a good 5-10fps performance hit. Can anyone weigh in?
With or without AA? Without MSAA. There is some sort of post FX AA being used when Post FX is maxed out, and it does a decent job. I don't notice much aliasing. I tried 2x MSAA and it took away about 10-15fps and had little effect on the visuals.[QUOTE="lockjaw333"]

Just a note for those who wanna downscale. The highest rez i could go with 16:10 is 3360x2100. try that. It's been working for me for a good while. You might notice a few intreresting issues like your screen jittering during very still shots like loading screens. Other than that there is no problems.
Just finished Mass Effect 3 and man was it a ride! Never played a game that kept you as gripped as ME3. It really outs you at the edge of your seat. The ending was terrible though, too many plotholes and contradictions, and a pity they could have made the ending great.
I'm fine with 2560x1600, though thanks for the suggestion. Plus I don't think my card supports that.Just a note for those who wanna downscale. No, I don't use a monitor at all. Playing on a Panasonic VT30 :D just used some downscaling to 1080P. Btw. you probably can't go higher because the current Kepler drivers don't allow higher res downsampling than 2800x1something. At least thats what someone told me in the Project CARS forum. 2160P ain't working for me either.

Try non standard resolutions like...2161p. 1600p isn't supported by my monitor. But if I change the number of vertical lines to 1601,I can use the resolution.Just a note for those who wanna downscale. I think the max custom resolution is different for different GPUs.The max I can create is 3000x1600.Beyond that, the screen goes black and only the border of the nvidia control panel window remains visible. And if I increase it further,it tells me that the resolution is not supported.
Continued playing crysis.
This fight was really hard.I got killed 5 times before I managed to defeat the guys in cheap nanosuits...and that too by quicksaving everytime I killed one.Amazing fight though! When I was walking through the deserted area,I kept wondering why the HUD was alerting me.The nanosuit guys were following me!
I cannot understand why some people say that crysis is as linear as crysis 2.The first level is a bit linear, but from 2nd level onwards, the maps are as big as those in battlefield games. This is my fourth playthrough, and I have so far discovered many new areas and routes.
What's your monitor? It's fine on mine. Can't check right now,but its a cheap LG monitor. Not even fullHD.[QUOTE="call_of_duty_10"]

Just got myself a new GTX 670 on a christmas sale, and got Far Cry 3 to test it out, AC3's gift code should come in a couple days. Card seems nice, pretty strong performance, just hope i didn't make a mistake by getting a 2gb card instead of the 3gb 7950. Also still need to figure out the fine points of how to overclock a kepler card with all the boosts and power +- stuff going on.
Very nice looking game, some of the best AA you can find in a game today. Dat alpha coverage sampling.
Also, a new dawn, because TECH DEMOS!

That's true, but I found in my experience that it's actually heavily dependent on the monitor (at least when I tested it :?). The most important factor from what I understand is what timings your monitor can support. I mistakingly assumed that everyone had a monitor that could have timings that could match my own :P Maybe I'm just an isolated case idk :? When your creating custom resolutions try to keep your pixel clock under 165mhz.
Here is a good guide that shows how to optimize your custom resolution for the highest possible quality. It's slightly involved but very worth it.

Interesting.I never knew that the limit depends on pixel clock.I will see if I can create higher custom resolutions using this guide/Started playing Dark Souls again. Does Dark Souls sync saves with the steam cloud, or with GFWL in any way? Like if I sign into my steam account on my roommate's computer, download the game, and sign into my GFWL, will I get this save game? I guess I'm not very far, so starting over wouldn't be a big deal, but I'd like to be able to jump between the two systems with a single game.
