Dunno if this has been mentioned before (i aint goin through all 40+ pages), But does anyone else think that X-box has ruined PC gaming?
The PC always ripped playstation consoles apart in graphics and quality in games (eg, we had half life, ps had crash bandicoot)
now since xbox came out we get sub par games with crap graphics (eg crisis kind of runs on my low end comp, while timeshift is unplayable with blocky half-arsed graphics) and instead of getting games at the same time, we have to wait 3 years+ for it to come out on pc and instead of making it a pc game, they just port it, cant even be bothered to change the pop-up buttons for us. "press OTo enter vehicle" im using a keyboard, i dont have an O.
I went to GAME and GAMESTATION last week and instead of having an entire wall for pc games (like they used to) they now have little shelves for them, and they are full of games that 2 people sittin in a basement made with delphi just to make abit of cash.
Im getting fed up. is it just me?

whilst i agree that the meteoric rise of consoles has undoubtedly had an effect on PC gaming, to say it has ruined it is an overstatement. PC gaming is still going strong despite scaremongering.
It's always going to be more niche than console gaming, because it requires more money, time, patience and techinical knowlege to actually get into and stay into.
and i think to say "we get sub par games with crap graphics" is a bit over the top, sure some games fit this description but look at all the crap that gets released for consoles? every one has more chaff than wheat.
we get plenty of great games with great graphics (not all system hogs like crysis either - but that still looks better than any console game on medium)
and we dont generally have to wait 3 years for cross platforms either - even mass effect (which was vehemently stated as a 360 exclusive by the devs) only took 1 year to be released on PC, and with a host of fixes. and by the very nature of the powerful PC platform it *should* technically exceed the 360 version
i dont know which game you refer to as "press O to enter a vehicle" but it suggests it was a PS3 version. I have never come across anything of this nature, but it suggests a oversight and was probably fixed in a patch
and as for GAME, they are simply going where the cash is. the masses will always go for console, because its easier, cheaper (for the hardware at least) and the games are more simplified. my local GAME still has a healthy stock of PC games, but to be honest not many high st shops sell them at all. i think online retailing and digital distribution are the future for PC, and the systems are being refined all the time.
