Question on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I have never played the first or the second. And I was thinking about buying one of them to play. But what one should I get? Is the first one or second one better? thanks

The first one. An absolute classic.

The second one is pretty decent but suffers from some issues in the story late game.

It would be the smartest thing you've done yet. Go straight with the first Kotor. It is the best video game in the world.

First one, the second game is difficult to understand as it requires a lot of the lore from the first Knights of the Old Republic to appreciate and to know what the hell is going on.

definitely agree with the above posts... have to play number 1 first. i would recommend that you play the second after you've done that though :) you wont regret it

Both are great, 1 is overall a solid game with constant quality, 2 isn't really constant with the quality, you have parts that are substantially better than anything in 1 and parts that are pretty mediocre (like the start/ending).

You should definitely get both and play them in order.

Be warned there is a little bit lull in the beginning of KOTOR 1 but I'll never forget how awesome it was when I got my 1st lightsaber. One of my favorite games ever. I plan on buying it during the summer sale and playing it again.

Start with Kotor 1. You won't understand the story completely in Kotor 2 without playing the first one. Also, Kotor 2 is pretty hard to find. It's not available on any digital download service, and obviously, not in many stores due to its age.

KOTOR 1 is more of a complete package out of the box and is easier to find, so start there. However if you dig it, you should try and find KOTOR 2. KOTOR 2 IMO is the better of the two (especially with the restored content mod).
