If the CPU type description of a motherboard doesn't include Phenom II X4, but the motherboard supports AM2+ socket; would a Phenom II X4 CPU with AM2+ socket still work with that motherboard?

Thanks

Hi. The best way to be sure about any CPU for any board

is to go to the motherboard's manfacturers webpage and

find the CPU compatibility chart for that model motherboard.

Also look for forums about your motherboard from their website other users will let you know if you can use certain CPUs my m3a is not specified that it supports phenom 2 but I read on the forums that many have had success with the most recent bios in running phenom 2 chips. It is gonna take a little research to find out if you can support the phenom 2 chips but it should be safe to say that if your motherboards website has a bios dated june or later you should be safe with phenom 2s.

not really unless the Cpu is supported by the bios
