I need a program that I can put to only record the sound from games.

I got Fraps, but it apparently can't do that. (?)

get the trial version of goldwave

once installed, make a new file (quite long so you have time to open your game and stuff, you can trim it later) and open the transport window (thing with play and stop, i forget its name in the software but youll find it under window)

Click on the thing that looks like a tick. Set the setting inside to right soundcard and the volume input to stereo mix or ''what you hear'' or somthing like that.

THen click record, tren go play your game, it will record every sound out your computer. When your done. PUsh stop, and save as...

Won't let me record, says 'cannot start record' and that I should go to help.

If an error occurs when recording is started, make sure you have the correct recording device selected and your sound card is capable of recording at the sampling rate and quality you've selected.
