Hi all,

Having some surgery on my shoulder next week and will then have to be in a sling for 6 whole weeks. Was wondering if anyone can think of any cool games that can be played with only one hand on PC. BTW its my right sholder and I'm right handed :( so nothing that requires super super finger dexterity.

Thanks

World of Goo is one handed and pretty easy on the arm. Why not give it a try?

Had a look at some vids for it on youtube. Not sure if I get it - kind of like lemings with goo???

Still could be fun. Please keep the suggestions coming I have six whole weeks 1 armed most of which I will be at home by myself unable to drive or ride my motorbike :(

Almost any strategy game can be played casually with just a mouse.

Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Command & Conquer, Warcraft, etc.

Sweet about the goo game - looked at more vids and stuff, it sounds cool.

I have C&C Generals, but think I would get frustrated playing it one handed.

I also have Trackmania - that is the only one handed game I have so far

Cheers all

you can play WoW with one hand, very easily if you have a mouse with more than 3 buttons.

trackmania nations forever for sure.

or even the paid version.

you just use the arrows and it's the most awesome racing game i've ever played.

i've spent 24 hours on it so far and i dont see myself quitting ever.

i definitely see myself buying paid game at some point though.

Wizard 101 is easy to play with only one hand. It's the game I play when the toddler wants to sit in my lap and watch me play games.

Considering that you wouldn't be able to run and cast spells at the same time with only one hand, I wouldn't recommend it. At least not if you're going to play a "keep away" class like a mage. I guess it's doable as a hunter or warlock... perhaps even a warrior or pally. You definitely couldn't PvP that way, though.

You should look into some point and click adventure games if you're into that sort of thing.

Well there are games that you could play without both hands. Just bash the keyboard with your head, and bind stuff to your keyboard.

But games that are actually ok to play with on hand would be basically any strategy game, any mmorpg game (eve especially, since it's mouse-based), Audiosurf or World of Goo.

Any point-and-click adventure game should do nicely... check out some the the old Lucas Arts games that run on ScummVM.

And... this game is freaking sweet. Check out the demo.

I seem to remember that KotOR let you run by holding down both mouse buttons. Though not ideal, you could play it one-handed.

Thanks all, these is a fair bit there to keep me going. I am sure that if I run out of games to play I can post up again for any further siggestions, but I doubt I will need to. And thanks Bedram. Cheers

Yes, play adventure games...but I'd go through the Sierra Online ones first. They are vastly superior. ;)

Action RPGs like Diablo, Diablo II, Titan Quest can easily be played with one hand (with the mouse). Also everything that's strategy and point-and-click adventure.

I would suggest sticking to some RTS, RPG and maybe point and click adventures games.

Neverwinter Nights can be played with just a mouse, and you can pause the action if need be to adjust your tactics, stack up spells etc. Dungeon Siege can also be played mouse only.

Most RTS games can be played with just a mouse, though you might want to reduce the difficulty slightly as you'll probably have slower reaction times using your left hand.

Yeah I liked DIablo a mate used to have it - didn't think of that one - think I will try Diablo II. I actually have neverwinter nights - got it with my 8800 GTS 512's - never got around to installing it. There were too many other games I wanted to play first. Thanks for reminding me

Try King's Bounty: The Legend. Not only is it an exceptional game (read the reviews), but it is a fairly long game with great replayability so it will last you quite a while.

Has Puzzle Quest been mentioned yet? I came across this topic, looking for one-handed games myself. My son was born last week and loves being held rather than being put in a crib to sleep. I hold him when his mom naps, and I've been looking for games I can play while I hold him. (I'm holding him right now as I type this one-handed.)

I've also recently set up Titan Quest so that I can play it one-handed. The main change I had to make was to set the wheel-mouse button to show dropped equipment (by deafault set to 'Z' or 'Alt' or something) and I was good to go. Everything else could be accessed by mousing.
