Not sure who to hate more...(LCD question)

AMD for not having proper HDMI support in drivers (HDMI looks like complete shit on both my old, and new radeon cards), or LCD manufacturers for making more and more displays WITHOUT DVI, but plenty of fucking ancient VGA inputs...

Anyway, I am looking into buying an affordable 27" LCD monitor for no more than $300, that is either IPS, or PLS. Which is more preferred?

There is a black border around the screen, and the image is blurry, and washed out, and just looks like crap. I've tested it on three different monitors, with the same result.

Have you tried getting into the scaling options in CCC? Try this

1) go to CCC

2) My Digital Flat-Panels

3) Scaling Options (Digital Flat-Panel)

4) Select 0% Overscan

Didn't do anything. The picture still looks like it's being transmitted through an RCA cable.

Sounds like a scaling issue. Are you running native resolution?

Yes, it was running at native resolutions, I checked.

Didn't you said you tried on 3 different monitors and you had the same results? Did you used different HDMI cables for these tests?

If your MOBO has HDMI try out your CPU graphics and see if the problems persist, just to be sure.

Well two of them were TV's, and the 3rd was a computer monitor not owned by me that only had HDMI, and VGA inputs, and my mobo does not have a video output. And I tried 2 different HDMI cables.
