Hey I'm planning on O.Cing from 2.4ghz to 3.2...

Heres my setup:

Q6600

Asus p5k-e WiFi AP

Corsair XMS2 2048mb DDR2 Ram x 2

Nvidia 8800gt (EVGA)

Creative Sound blaster X-fi

(Vista Home ed 32bit)

(Got artic pro 7 cooling for processor)

I need a step by step overclock if anyone can please! Would be very much appreciated! I'm not great with stuff like this, but managed to have it overclocked to 3.2 for the past year but suddenly not working anymore :(

Thanks!

İ do not know anything about overclocking your system but what i do know is that i would 100% reccomend that you do NOT overclock for 3 reasons

1.Fry your sytem if you live in a warm place

2.you need a high PSU if you want to overclock to max

3.İ would reccomend a VERRY HİGH fan to keep the cpu cool

Not worried about the system overheating, its done well for 3 years im sure it'l hold out a while longer.. Thanks for the advice though! I would leave it at 2.4 but it isn't quite ideal to run new games :( Fallout new vegas seems a bit jumpy at 2.4, was fine at 3.2... I think its strange that suddenly 1 day my O.C profile doesn't work anymore, very strange..

rule of advice. im a bad person to ask for OCing a CPU. a GPU is very easy with MSI After Burner, or with EVGA Precision. that said

if your going to OC you CPU first thing to do is to get a after market cooler that fits in the type of CPU socket you have.

Just google overclocking guides and you'll get alot of results.

That "needing a high psu to oc to the max" is nonsense btw
